Windhorst supposedly reporting both Ben and 76ers expect him to start season here. Trade talks have died down. I don’t blame Morey, but this blows. I have no excitement for this year except to watch Maxey develop. We are not title contenders

^ agreed. Lame offseason if so.

Might be joining that other user on the #MoreyisWashed brigade if he's committed to Harris after championing his analytics gimmick.

Would you guys be happy with Dejounte Murray, Dragic and a couple FRPs for Simmons?

you can't force teams to make a trade lol

Judge Gms on the moves they make not the ones they don't. It takes two to tango and everyone probably over values their own pieces too much. A whole lot of stuff goes into these deals that we aren't privy to such as Tillman being salty about Darryl bailing on him; or the idea that like Ainge teams aren't trying to be a victim ...that and the elephant in the room...maybe our guys aint worth **** lol. SO despite their flaws, just trading them because some fans are mad at them isn't a good enough reason (especially since those same fans would be crying about them the moment they played well...I mean we have people here clamoring for Horford back ffs).

I think Morey is overrated...but most of the big name GMs are. James Jones is getting a lot credit for the Suns...when like 2 seasons ago he was in over his head and hack. People were clowning on the Bucks for giving up too much for Jrue...and welp.

Like it or not (and I am team Not Liking it lol); this team was the first seed; best starting lineup; all that jazz. Now of course context is key in it being a shortened season; the east got better; Ben and Jo hate each other now....and yeah all of that is true...and again I think some major move should have been made too...but can't force those at this stage IMO so hoping that Ben finally gets it..even if only to get traded lol; Maxey takes the next step; Drummond isn't the occasional **** Dwight was/is; and an actual training camp and more time to tinker.....its not the end of the world. Not great. Not what I wanted...but looking at how things panned out; forcing a Spurs or Wolves trade at this stage feels like a lateral move at best and more than likely a step back in which people are still mad...except then we have even less moves to make. Ben's flaws are playoff flaws..they aren't going to show before his precious all star game...so I am not worried about his value dropping any lower. So yeah...lets get weird and see how this **** show goes for now.

Hurry up and decide Morey.
If no deal by training camp I can see this situation approaching Defcon 4 levels.

For all the ''Just Run It Back'' people , be prepared to get a Doctors Note instead of Ben back in Philly.

Oh and Ben is happy and ready to go anywhere else (except Toronto - Please God no)

Nothing about Simmons career thus far indicates he'll sit out.
He always played. Whether he'll take shots is a whole other matter.

You guys realize that trading Ben for the sake of trading him (i.e Dejounte Murray or Brogdon) is the worst move of all?

There’s only two ways to deal with this situation right now.

1.) straight up trade him for dame or similar caliber players

2.) surround the team with scorers then either try to win it while pumping Ben’s value and try again to deal him next offseason for a lillard or harden level player
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I also think he will play. This is not "I'm too good for this ****" AD situation, he has to sort of redeem himself. Maybe he will become a bit more aggressive, this is much more within his comfort zone than taking shots. I think it would take a shaman and a psychologist in one person to make him take shots...although it will be interesting now that there is less pressure for Rivers to maintain the "Who cares about the shooting because he's elite at everything else" narrative.

Remember Morey traded Capela away based on analytics and turned Rockets into fodder overnight.

So take it with a grain of salt. The man loves value even perceived ones that aren’t there in reality and also his construction methods in regards to contracts overall for the team is pretty standard cut and dry.

Also he’s an Active GM so I’ll be very very surprised if Harris is here come trade deadline this season. He wanted Ben to be traded let’s not forget for Harden.

Brogdon and a pick outside ten is crap. He probably has the numbers down on what kind of return to expect for Tobias, 2.5 years is moveable. We got a nerd at the helm and that’s what we need right now not some nuff nuff or an ego driven GM lol.

I mean we still could have Horford and Richardson

Ben’s not the type to go on his Moby Dick self transformation journey by himself even though his character (fear of his own steps) needs it by definition. Ah well it was fairly clear to me he needs that the most out of everything else.

people keep using the Capela trade as some gotcha against Morey....

that trade opened up the floor for Houston and in particular Westbrook...they just ran into the eventual champs lol.

“Ben’s doing a great job as a screener all night.”

Well... he’s always been our best screener and that’s not even an argument there.

Watch it. Look at how much he received of the play instead of the stupid proviso of creating. I mean Richardson was handling the rock..... I’m sure we have guards that can do that surely.

0:50 - That’s the money play right there. Not executed perfectly (start it deeper) but that’s the play. You can also go heavy on body protection and just walk it to the rim

1:55 - That play is obviously money

2:34 - This is the big one. Embiid’s fault must bring that up on game study after the game and makes sure it doesn’t happen again.... it does happen though . Capela moved him aside like moving a cup of water on a table. It didn’t help that Embiid actually wanted to go there. Ben had the head on the swivel looking for him.... I mean Embiid is very hard to miss. Big guy, get in front and stick the bum out easy bucket then.

I dunno watching games again with a fresh set of eyes, outside of his FT woes and confidence Ben is acceptable on offense. He has a tendency to be in front of the play but rarely behind. I.e his eyes are already there just wanting for the other player to realize it. He plays much better fast paced though. When slowed down it’s more effective as the roll man.

I think the starting unit with no ballhandling threats didn’t help his game one bit.

Reason I’m talking about this is if Ben stays you might as well maximize him. We don’t all the time. That 100% needs to change along with himself. That’s a wait and see.

Maxey even though it’s his second year might have to be in the lineup for both.

Done and dusted that’s the final assessment for Ben.

I mean, if he realizes he’s not the point guard and is this aggressive every game there is zero issue. Problem is you get maybe 3 games a year like this out of him.
always a jump shot away.

Still was a blunder trade a bad one no doubt. Having no Center agains the Lakers out of all team teams made the Rockets irrelevant.

Morey nerded too hard.

Read on Twitter

“Philadelphia has conducted expansive discussions with several teams, including Minnesota and Toronto, but neither a Twolves package nor the Raptors’ proposals have appealed to the 76ers as of yet.”

“all signs continue to point to Simmons’ career in Philly coming to an end.”

they weren't beating the Lakers with Capela either

because the lane was clogged with teams not giving a **** about Westbrooks jumper. It actually turned their season around and then Westbrook got hurt IIRC and never was able to get back into a flow.

Nah, not true. They lost without Capela which means they would have won with him. That's just logic. You can't prove otherwise. Morey washed confirmed.

The nets played and are gonna play even smaller this season than that Houston team. Bruce Brown and Blake were their centers for a majority of the Bucks series.
