Even Lebron would not give up any of his max for DeRozan but he would for Klay which says that Klay is MUCH better as a player and why the Lakers are struggling to win with poor backcourt play while the Mavs only lost one game cause of greatness of Klay.

If Klay wanted to come here, Joel would have taken less as well to make him our starting SG and we be 6-1 now too cause he is the best pure SG in the game!

The Milwaukee Bucks will win tonight. That means the Philadelphia 76ers will now have the worst record in the Eastern Conference

Giannis' frustration continues to mount. He didn't know how good he had it with Budenholzer. I still think the Bucks will be fine once Middleton is back.

So it seems like the new trend in basketball is limiting the 3pt attempt rate. That’s what Bud in PHX is doing, and so do we. That explains why we’re closing so hard on the 3pt shooters. It’s just that we’re the worst in defending shots in the restricted area.

This is genuinely not trolling: I have a weird feeling that Giannis gets traded this season. I think it will happen fast. Maybe during the offseason.

Is this the new defensive meta? I wonder if there is a metric that tracks close out quality/velocity and whether that will see an uptick each year along with 3PAs

Also wonder if there will be new creative ways to limit 3PAs

I’ve always wanted to see a “closeout” stat. I even brought it up a year or two ago on the RealGM stats board.

It seems teams believe that lowering opponents’ 3-point attempt rate improves their chances of winning. However, I think you still need solid rim protection to make that effective. This might also explain the increased emphasis on crashing the offensive boards this year.

Yeah closeouts are something every coaching staff tracks even if it doesn't go public.

Everyone has been obsessed with lowering 3s against for a while. That's why everyone switches everything. It's basically required this year though with how high 3 point attempts are going.

I think a lot of players also are getting a lot better in shooting deep 3s and stepbacks. Tatum and Ant Edwards both made a significant improvement in this skillset.

Jokic has to think for himself and realize he has a chance to be GOAT if he can just get him 4-5 more rings.

Milwaukee is going to want a player for Giannis. No way they trade him for picks and not get a Mikal Bridges (at least) to go with them.

I mean, trading Giannis at this point should return the greatest trade haul in NBA history.

The first and second apron are too restrictive for stars to be able to force their way to a specific team anymore. If Giannis wants out, he has two realistic options: HOU and OKC. So the only question is if Giannis is willing to go to one of those spots.

I don't see BKN as realistic because they don't have enough to offer in a trade package.

Trae Young has the stats of an all time great player and no one ever talks about him.

He's westbrook if you shrink him down, take away any defensive ability, and give him a good shot.

It'll never be condusive to winning basketball
