I think we have higher standards for that. He’d only be a 6th man at best for the Thunders or the Rockets.

Na

He would’ve been runaway rookie of the year

Ben Simmons was Rookie of the Year. Where is he now?

McCain has A heart and is not afraid to shoot very bad comparison

The right answer is
“And Ben Simmons is 6’9” so we shouldn’t compare both”.

As a rookie? Maybe. But it's hard to really judge a 15th overall pick in year one. He has shown he's way better than a 6th man in his short time playing this year.

You can apply the same hopeful narrative to anyone in this draft. There’s a lot of “coping” in convincing ourselves that McCain is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Just look at the talent across the league, especially at the guard position. Even Trae Young barely made the All-Star team. Maxey averaged nearly 30 while playing both ends and still got snubbed. Quickley dropped 20 and 5 against us, yet he’s considered a nobody. Reed Sheppard was in the G League not long ago. Bub Carrington looks like a perennial 17-5-5 guy. Isaiah Collier has the vision to lead the league in assists one day. And the list keeps going.

I don't know man, just watching him play, he doesn't look like a rookie. I know we didn't get to see a full season of him, but when he was running the show at PG with our reserves, you could see the path to stardom as he gets more consistency with his shot.

It’s a frustrating loss, and we naturally lean toward pessimism. Maybe I should take a break. At the end of the day, we shouldn’t care about this team more than the players do. Thanks for staying up and keeping each other entertained—tomorrow’s a new day.

When your best player only plays in 16 games mistakes like that happen. Wide wide open three to win and that ugly drive hoping to get fouled? Just horrible.

I'm gonna take a page out of Stormi's book and not visit the board anymore as long as Paul George is on this team.

Ironically he was the one that was supposed to replace Tobias, but they doubled down on that. Anyways I'm signing off. Good luck to the posters who choose to stick around.

Also watching here and there now, watched a little of tonight’s game. I think if Embiid is no longer capable of being a one man defensive scheme, this house of cards is done.

Maybe it’s his injury, or his interest, but a lot of the roster construction has been based on Embiid papering over deficiencies across the other 4 positions and he doesn’t look like he can do it anymore.

This is far more concerning than anything he does on offense.

As a Wizards fan, I believe he's better than Bub Carrington by a good bit, although he's 4 or 5 years older. Butler is definitely a better defender and higher IQ player than Jordan Poole.

The Wizards messed up. Butler won a championship with Baylor.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Cringy and pretty weird for a rival fan to come onto this board to gloat. It is one way for him to better about himself, I guess.

Can we now say Embiid has one of the worst contracts in the league? You don’t want to lose him for nothing but he’s on the wrong side of 30 and his injury woes are only get worse from here on end.

I'm not all the way disconnected from the board, I still tap in from time to time because we've got a quality bunch of posters here.

Actually sitting down however and dedicating hours of my time every week for this sad product... absolutely not.

The problem is not the stupid Embiid play, the problem is the other 48 team minutes.

They are a disaster ( since the first day ) and not wanting to acknowledge the obvious is being bad at your job.

Embiid gets the heat because of his Shaqtin moment at the end, but this loss really is on PG for not giving much (again) and especially Maxey for a total no show.

This game should be a cold slap in the face to the clowns in the front office who want to make the playoffs. Just Fing tank you idiots.

0.1%. I can only think of one time it worked. I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple others, but it's so infrequent it doesn't even register.

Is it possible that the official (unsaid) narrative is changing from "we can compete when we get healthy" to "embrace the tank", and Nurse's comment about Maxey is the opening shot?

Well, we can dream, can't we?

Ruined the broadcasts for me years ago. Where's my brother Vols who can join in solidarity missing the goat Zumoff.

Still here, but I watch so infrequently any more and just assume she'll be here as long as she wants, so what's the point in complaining?
Truth is, the vast majority of fans probably don't care and some might even enjoy their inane banter.

Actually caring about the team is kind of why I stopped caring as much after George was signed and Embiid was extended. I'm as stunned as anyone that it happened so fast, but as much as I was (maybe delusionally) looking forward to what could be done when the decks were cleared after last season, jumping right back into the morass after taking five years to extricate yourself from the mess that Brand, Brown, Glenn & Co. created just seemed like lunacy.

They are damn lucky that the Eagles distracted the city from this abomination and that baseball season is fast approaching.
