however the fact that we have gotten bombed on from deep on the regular this season has to be a sign that our defensive coverage is awful no?

Sure but considering like 6 of who would be our 8-9 man PO roster are out, I’m not sure it’s super relevant.

Bigger concern is probably rim defense—if Embiid comes back but is limited with that (like he was this season) we have almost no way to shore that up.

feels like this was an issue even at "full strength".

It feels like no matter the coach the Sixers are always horrible at defending against the three.

IIRC one year we were great at it stat wise

but then terrible at defending the rim so it didn't matter (i want to say it was Tony DeLio lol)

I mean I get it, the "idea" is to force them into the drop coverage to settle for a long two at best (I hate this because Biid often gives up oodles of space for the easiest shot imaginable) but then there are times where like 3 guys rush into double but does so in a way they can't really recover from and its always an easy read to a wide open guy. I feel like it works in practice because our guys can't hit open looks lol.

Its a league wide epidemic tho IMO. Like against Boston, teams blitz Tatum and Brown which worked in the past because they were less willing or good passers, but now you do it and its an easy look for their myriad of shooters. I'd just live with them trying to live off of tough contested looks rather than get bodied from deep imo.

Wish we could get someone more intriguing than Alex Reese. He looks like a fish out of water out there.

I bet Silver wanted to punish us for tanking but now he is utterly confused! Our deep bench is better not only than our bench but also better than some of our max players.

Bona + Yabu are a strong frontcourt duo and this moron Nurse is just now maybe realizing it. Also Jeff Dowtin is not a bad player.

I love the energy that Bona plays with. It's deceiving because he looks about 35

Bona, Edwards and McCain will be major bench contributors next year. 2024 was a home run draft.

Should they fire Morey right after the draft this year?
