sorry i dont see it.

Derrick Favors comes to mind as well.

Cole Aldrich didn't dominate the Big 12 this year either. Actually, Davis and Aldrich's stats are pretty similar.

We need a STARTING center, not a backup. Because Brand is a smaller guy and not the best post defender himself, we need a big, tough center like Cole Aldrich, that's why we should be enamored with him. Cole would take a dump on Jerome Jordan if those two matched up. Two other guys I like that would be somewhat easy to grab if we just gave up Thad would be Larry Sander and Jarvis Varnado. And if you REALLY wanna take flyers on some guys, watch out for players that were really really good coming out of high school but didn't fit in with the college team they picked like Derrick Caracter, Tiny Gallon and Samardo Samuels. All three of those guys I believe have chances to actually become starters in the NBA and will be drafted right around the same time as Jordan.

That is probably me.

You probably have never seen Jordan. He plays good D, can rebound, very good shot blocker, his offensive game is better than what you think, he is a legit 7'0 foot, has a huge wingspan. Only problem is he isn't tough. I rather have him over Aldrich because Aldrich is going to take a Top 10 pick. Jordan is going to take a 2nd Round pick.

Jarvis Varnado is the smaller version of Jordan. So if you like Varnado, you should like Jordan. They also went one-on-one, and Varnado struggled against him.

I started talking about him before SF76 said we might get him.

As for the trade scenarios SF posted...I like the Memphis trade better just because I like Haddadi over Koufos. But I don't think we can get Aldrich at 13. So if we move for Aldrich it will have to be at 9.

I don't think anything happens, maybe a 2nd round pick, but we'll see.

Varnado is one of the best shot blockers of all time in college basketball. He is a PF though, so he will probably struggle when he's playing against legit centers in the NBA. Thats why it will be nice for a team to have him come off the bench as a PF and dominate defensively

I like Varnado as well, actually. Wasn't putting down Varnado by any means.

Derrick Favors came on late in the season...hes also an 18 year old freshman.

Aldrich also had a team full of likely NBA players around him that he deffered to.

Davis' UNC team this year could have easily been HIS team...but it wasnt

i like that kid Varanrdo as well... i kno he doesnt have the size to be a 5, but getting him would allow for Speights and Hawes to both play the 5 with a shot blocker @ the 4 to help balance it out on D

Samardo Samuels will suck so much in the NBA... However, Tiny Gallon and Derrick Caracter (most notably Caracter) can definitely be good backups and even potential starters in this league.

The fact that your Kentucky bias taints everything you say is sad, man. You could offer alot of information to this board if you were a little more objective.

Dei Lynam was just on 97.5. Mike Missanelli just asked Dei, what her starting lineup would look like. She responded, with or without Iguodala traded. I know I'm reading too much into this but its pretty interesting.

It could be harmless, in that ESPN or someone like that was suggesting that if you take Turner, you have to trade Iguodala. Then again, maybe the Sixers are active.

They are definitely active but I didnt get the sense that they felt they had to get something done today after the Turner selection.

SF... reports out of Boston are that Kendrick Perkins is on the block. He's most likely going to miss the start of the season because of his injury in Game 6, but can you see the Sixers having interest in him? 25 years old, tough guy, solid defender... he sounds like the type of big man that Collins wants. Thoughts?

Like you said though, you are now out of contact with your buddy and the 11th hour before the draft is always when teams start to put their best offers out there or become panicked. If a team is interested in Iguodala and doesn't feel like they will get what they need in the draft, I could see them stepping up and offering more today. That said, I suspect he's going nowhere.

Please TGP no Perkins. He's the worst center in the NBA. His toughness and defense is overrated and he has no offensive game whatsoever. He'd be nothing if he wasn't paired with another lengthy big like GarNOT.

You know I respect your hatred for all things Boston but it's that hatred that blinds in this case.

Trading Thad to Utah for #9 and sending #9 to Celtics for Perkins...

Not saying I would do it, but that would get him.

I don't think Perkins is nearly effective if Garnett isn't next to him pushing.

I hate Perkins, but really this time I'm being dead serious. He's a horrible basketball player. He literally only can do one thing and that is put his blubbery body on someone and be physical with them. He's not really a shot blocker, he isn't really agile. He isn't quick or long. His offense has nothing. He can't even hit a 5 foot jumper, he has no jump hook, he has no up and under, no dribble, no moves.

If Boston had a real center they may have won the series against the Lakers.

Plus I'm not a big fan of one dimensional players anyway. I know everyone is obsessed with a defensive big right now, but I'd rather get a better player who has offense too.
