Frank Ntilikina has had a hell of a U18 tourney so far for France. His latest game is on YouTube. He goes ham in it.

With Monk basically just guarding the PG position, and Simmons running the point on offense.
So many options to get the job done... Don't overlook that Fultz gets to the freethrow line while Ball doesn't.

i want the pecking order to be clear and for every player that is added to fall in line
1- Embiid
2- Joel
3- Joel Embiid
4- Simmons
5- whoever we draft, sign or trade for
with that being i said i worry that fultz won't know his role and will try to assume the scoring lead instead of playing a complementary role to embiid and simmons

That's my only concern with Fultz too. If we have a shot at him I think we take it. If FO doesn't believe he can be complimentary, you take him and trade him on draft night. Either way you take Fultz.

Simmons isn't a scorer at all and I think that Fultz and Embiid naturally compliment one another. There's room for Simmons to make plays, he rebounds the basketball...

he's better than you think...one of the highest ft rate you will find to go along with his ability to finish at the rim even if his jumper is a work in progress i believe he will be a 20ppg guy to go along with his passing chops and he's absolutely a guy i wanna feature before fultz..i don't wan't him to take a backseat to fultz at all....AT ALL!....i don't want simmons to second guess his place and role in the pecking order

If a player has a fragile mind then he's not really the player you hoped him to be right? You tried to artificially make him that player by reducing competition. This wouldn't be a Ricky Davis/Lebron James scenario where Ricky Davis really was just in the way no matter how productive he was being.

it's not about a player's psyche it's about having a clearly defined role...especially when that said player as little to no experience...that's why it's not always a good thing to have too many young players at the same time vying for the same spot or playing time...If simmons was a 3 years vet then it would be a different story id have no problem bringing in a guy like fultz

if fultz has talent to go along with an alpha dog mentality at the next level, then be my guest and help lead the sixers to a chip

Well that wouldn't be a problem in regards to Fultz, Simmons, and Embiid. Three completely different players at three completely different positions with three completely different skill sets. Two scoring, shooting, finishers work with a playmaker. It's sort of like The Nets with Kidd, Carter, and RJ, but even more balanced because there is zero positional overlap. The Sixers will be able to put two players on the floor with that trio that can shoot and score while that Nets team had trash in the frontcourt compared to Embiid/Simmons.

I think that Fultz is the best scorer in the draft, but the second best scorer is Monk, and Monk isn't going to pound the ball as much as Fultz.
That's why I currently have Fultz 3rd behind Ball and Jackson. I think we can potentially get Monk with the Lakers pick.

Sill don't get the mass appeal of Malik Monk in terms of being a high lotto selection. Dude is 6'3" 200 pounds and can't defend for ****. I'd rather have my eyes out for potential starters with that Lakers pick.

Re: 2016-2017 College Basketball / '17 NBA Draft Thread
How many times in NBA draft lottery history has a team drafted a guard under 6'4" where they immediately said that he is not a point guard played him as a SG and it went on to work out to the level that it satisfied him being a lottery pick? Monk is probably the best college freshman shooter ever IMO, but having Simmons on the roster already leaves you probably as non traditional as you need to be. Compounding it with a short shooting guard can cause rotation problems and what happens if you decide to trade Simmons? You have a short SG now to go with what? A traditional player added to the lineup? I think that it's more healthy to give a player a role, than to draft a role. If you draft a player to a role and it doesn't work out, what is he worth? If Monk is missing shots what is he worth? Fultz can do multiple things, more margin for error.

I disagree. I think we should look to pair Embiid with an elite perimeter scorer. I want this team to have scoring options 1A and 1B, with Embiid being either one of those. Simmons will be an excellent distributor and all around player but not that type of scorer.

I knew he was only 6'3, but during his game on Saturday, I looked up his wingspan. It's like 6'3 depending where he was measured. That is shocking. He'll be at a physical disadvantage against some PGs, let alone SGs.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I am really impress with Tatum's defense. He just need to extend his range to the 3 point line.

I agree. He's had no issue defending guards on switches (albeit on lesser teams). It'll be interesting when he's matched up with better athletes. I really like Tatum (#2 behind Fultz for me) but man is he a gunner.

Yeah, I really like his long wingspan since it is going to help him generate a lot of steals just like Roco. I originally had Jackson at 2 behind Fultz but Tatum might overtake his spot since he doesn't have a broken jumper.
