He's obviously a smart guy, so I expect him to cut it out soon which will hopefully allow us to take the next step (i.e. a win streak). I will say, I'm a little disconcerted by his trouble in the post. Needs to develop a hook and drop step.

I grant you that he still makes bonehead plays from time to time, that one iso scoring attempt on Tarik Black in the last game comes to mind, but he still has less than 40 games of nba experience, and needs to work through it. I'm confident that HE knows it too.

He has a hook and a drop step move though. He just needs to utilize them more when he is in close.

Like Fultz when he gets his shot blocked a lot, I think that Embiid is still feeling his way through what he can and can't get away with in the NBA. Trying to back down strong players when he starts 15 feet away(Tarik Black play) isn't a great strategy, and trying to face up and shoot over athletic big men of similar size (Whiteside play where he was blocked) isn't a great strategy either.

I hope Embiid doesn't try to go one on one against Noel to try to make this a personal battle. Embiid needs to play the team game.

If anyone knows JoJos moves, it's Nerlens.

This strikes me as a shrewd move by Noel. It seems like every time someone challenges Embiid, he wastes a ton of possessions with unassisted field goal attempts trying to make them regret it.

Don't take the bait Embiid it's a trap.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

Biid played 35mins against Mavs. That should be a good sign

He played 29...

Guessing his misses the rockets game with the hand contusion. Wonder if he who must not be named can get over his "respiratory infection" and join the team in houston.

It’s nice that the minutes restrictions seem to be taking care of themselves. He is in the ballpark of playing the right number of minutes for him right now based on his foul rate and his fitness level.

If this continues to be the case then his minutes should rise naturally over the course of the year.

forget ruining OK4, Embiid is not exactly built for uptempo, small ball his own self. even as we've successfully turned him onto 3 and D pf tendencies, parking at the 3 pt line to clear out the paint for the cutters, he's not all that speedy, and driving that far to the rim is just going to get him hurt. like it or not, the only role that makes sense is for him to be the dominant big man of the game. the guy who owns the rim at both ends of the court. with all the talk of who we need to trade while we can, for the sake of the integrity of our current schemes, maybe we should deal him. (Start Amir!)

Joel has to work on his turnovers and cut that number down quite a bit. He exposes the ball too much when driving (something he should not be doing that frequently) or facing up, hopefully he will work on this and will improve in next coming games...

Cheers! ;-)

Embiid does a lot of dumb things and makes things a lot harder than it needs to be. He dribbles the ball up the court or gets an offensive rebound and dribbles it too many times and gets it stripped. All he has to do when he gets the rebound is pass the ball out. That’s it. Instead he feels the need he must dribble at least 5 or 6 times for some crazy reason.

i cant remember a single turnover yesterday, where he lost the ball with dribblings following a rebound. he lost the ball at driving to the basket or in the post against doubleteams/noel

Yesterday he got an offensive rebound in the first half and dribbled out and right when he was about to pass it he got called for an offensive foul for clearing out with his arm. He didn’t even need to do that. He dribbled all the way out past the 3 point line. Unnecessary.
