Re: Playoffs!?
The look on Butler's face after Williams' 3 and the trash talk said it all. Damn, that guy is a beast.
And how about Vincent? A Matisse-esque idiot foul, then comes back and buries the Celtics.

Grant Williams continues to build his legacy as nothing more than a buffoon who talks trash to wrong people.
Tatum has been figured out, Brown has been a ghost, Smart can't even flop his way into the series. Al Horford looking old and confused is classic! I don't know man.... I'm absolutely loving watching Miami body Boston. I hope they sweep them. It would be beautiful.

Checked what Jimmy said with his post game on court interview. I think he’s referring to what’s happening about the sixers.
He talked about wanting to play with each other and trust

This series shows you just how pathetic the Sixers are. This Celtics team is a bunch of choking losers. And the Sixers are even more loserish than they are. Seriously, the Celtics were begging to give the series to the Sixers and they were like nah. And you know damn well if someone on the Celtics got in Embiid or Harden's face and talked trash, they would turtle up and hide, unlike Jimmy who it pissed off.
Just blow this entire team of losers up. They disgrace the city of Philadelphia.

Miami doesn't blink - even when they got down by 12, no panic, just a couple of good possessions and stops and it's a game again. Aside from Butler, there's nothing really special about their personnel, but they're incredibly well coached, poised, and never afraid of the big moment. Any of them are capable of delivering the dagger.

Caleb Martin was such a great addition for them. Really impressed with him as an overall basketball player. He can handle, shoot it, he can get to the rack, he's an incredible athlete and he has given Tatum and Brown Hell on defense. Here I thought he was just a high energy athlete. No he's a baller.

Because both Sixers and Celtics are not fully 100% in winning the championship.
Tatum/Brown and Embiid/Harden are fighting on who’s alpha on their team. Role players are overpaid and have guaranteed contracts.
What’s jimmy fighting for? MVP?
Jimmy knows winning a championship is his only way to be at the same level with Embiid, Giannis and Jokic.
Bam Adebayo knows winning a championship is his only way to be recognized as an legit all star.
Those role players knows winning a championship is their only way to tell the world they’re legit NBA players.
For fans, we find it easy to think that these guys plays to win the championship. But in reality, championship is not that valued for most players.
Once Embiid got the MVP, he has not much drive anymore to play hard in the playoffs.
Once Harden got assurance from the Rox, he has no drive anymore to play hard in the playoffs because he’s taking care of his body to sign his contract in the offseason.

The most impressive thing is the way Spo can take pretty much middle of the road players (Martin, Vencent, Strus, Robinson, etc.) and in that system they look like all stars, and all of them are poised and confident in big spots. Anyone who thinks coaching is overrated in the NBA is a fool.

Bet those shooters would brick houses if they were on this team. Harden and Biid choked but Spo would make a world of difference.

That's a lottery team with Rivers, maybe competing for the play-in.
Can you imagine if Embiid had spent his career in that organization with that coach? Damn.

Grant Williams set Butler off. They were up around 10 and Butler just started hunting him the rest of the game. Must be nice...

Personally, I do think you dont need lengthy players to play good defense.
I thought we played really good defense in the playoffs. We generated a lot of steals and has good rim protection, we run almost the same defensive scheme heat does.
But dont get me wrong, im not saying you can play good defense by having a group of Seth Curry, Patty Mills and Trae Young.

Re: Playoffs!?
Joel is watching Jimmy and the Heat battle in the playoffs and I hope everytime he hears the words toughness and fight he gets a inkling of how hasnt shown thoes traits for a long playoff run. Bam running circles around old , slow Horford like we knew he would with the motor and conditioning to compensate for his rudementary skillset. More traits Embiid he has yet to show in the playoffs.
The Celtics seem to struggle with athleticism and doesn't seem to adjust to the oppositions hot hand. Jimmy, Strus, Vincent,Martin all give high level resistance on the peremiter and can get hot when left open. They know how to hide their poor defenders and they put their players in the best position to succeed.
You look at the remaining 4 teams playing and you find alot of missing components from the sixers that contributes to them not playing.

You do not mess with Jordan's son. You just do not.
Bam Adebayor is small ball's worst nightmare. Celtics aint having a counter for that.

Jayson Tatum in the 4th quarter this series:
- Game 1: 0/0 FGM, 0/0 3PM, 3 TOV
- Game 2: 0/3 FGM, 0/3 3PM, 2 TOV
- Game 1: 0/0 FGM, 0/0 3PM, 3 TOV

Re: Playoffs!?
Heat is usually (actually since 2010) one of my most hated teams in the NBA, but I have to admit it's a joy watching them compete every single night, especially Butler.
It's what you want from the team that takes a run towards the championship seriously. I was saying our G2 in Boston, don't take it for granted, and we did, we threw it away. Heat is going for it every single game, like every game is G7.
And it just shows me the type of team I want 76ers to be. Hard-nosed, with character, ball movement, hustle and effort. That's all you want to see. Then if someone is better, power to them.

Re: Playoffs!?
Watching Jimmy is more and more a bitter sweet feeling. I want this guy to win because that's all he cares about. You can't teach that type of character and will, you either have it or not. Harden looks like a dead cow next to this guy.
Jimmy may not be the most talented player, but he certainly has a Jordan type of mentality.
We ruined the process by letting Butler go. I'm more and more convinced we would have won the chip by now if he stayed. In 3 months playing in Sixers uniform, he took us Kawhi shot away from ECF. Imagine if he had more time to take over the reigns in Philly and build this type of culture around the team. I'm sure Embiid would be a better player today because Butler would have demanded nothing but the same effort from him.
But no, we were trying to be cute with our roster and rely on Harris and Simmons to be our 2nd and 3rd guys.. No way in 100 years we'd be winning anything with them.. And we won't. Not until we get mentally strong players and dogs, but with talent on this roster.
