Isn't it harder to build around Sarr than Edey? It's easier to find a 4 who can space the floor than a 5.

Wouldn't Edey have a better chance of winning the scoring battle against Tatum in the post after a switch than Tatum shooting over Edey's 9'6" standing reach?

Same reason Orlando did it with Anthony Black last year.

Sometimes you just roll the dice on a big, athletic, young guy with basketball IQ and passing ability and hope for exponential growth once he gets NBA coaching and development.

Not too bad of a shooter. 75% from FT is OK; definitely something you can work with. His 3FG% isn’t really that important (reference: Maxey). He was +50% from 2FG, which is definitely something you’d like to see. I can understand the interest, however I haven’t watched a whole lot of him since he’s decidedly out of our range.

Who are your targets at 41? Assuming they trade the first and keep it.

My thoughts on Walter is that he’d be a smart pick, but don’t expect anything of use out of him for at least two years. He has a few numbers that project better to the NBA, but there isn’t much daylight between him and Carrington in my opinion. Flawed prospects with elite features and will take both some time to get comfortable at the pro level.

Walter seems okay but I'd be afraid he wouldn't get by a single NBA defender and couldn't stop a single offensive player. Love the shooting and overall energy though.

the big ballhandler guard/wing is the white whale

You get one that hits and you have a building block that can fit into any team...don't even have to be great playmakers any more lol.

Thats why despite not being super impressed with Castle (I legit got him mixed up with Newton all the time) I get the hype.

I think Walter will eventually be very good defensively. He's a fantastic athlete and has a 6'10" wingspan. He needs to get stronger and he needs to get coached up.

Offensively, I just want him to slide into the spacer role. He's got a great trigger from three and he's a magnet for free throw attempts. He's great at drawing contact and fooling defenders. He's the type of dude that would be a playoff killer to opposing teams. I envision a lot of 4 point plays with him.

I think Walter's rookie year will be similar to Jordan Hawkins. Play somewhere between 15-20 mpg and scoring 10 ppg or less. Out of playoff rotation.

The exciting part of it for me is getting a guy that pairs longterm with Maxey. Securing a backcourt is something that has eluded this franchise for the longest time.

I still think Carrington needs to play PG. Having he and Maxey together would be too much like the Kentucky days of Maxey/Quickley.

I actually see him like Herro. He can figure out off ball things, but if he gets his inside game to a solid level, he’s another on ball creator we so desperately need.

If the rumours are true and Dillingham can be available in our pick, I will be very dissapointed if we dont draft him, my favourite player in the draft.

Wouldn’t be mad at it, he’s one of those 6’1 dynamos you just take a chance on. He’d likely have to be off the bench for the first few seasons.

Seems like Devin Carter is climbing draft boards. The few guys I'm interested in all probably won't be there. Hope one of them falls. I'd love Dillingham, but I doubt he's there.

he is fun as hell to watch

but not being able to really play next to Maxey longterm does hurt him

but you take BPA all day.

does sound like Klutch is trying to get him to LA tho

If he's good, he's a tradable piece. Teams are looking for more than just picks in a trade these days. We haven't had a player anyone gives a damn about other than Maxey, who was too good to trade.

Dillingham would be the first guy I’d feel comfortable taking the last shot on our roster since Iverson. Maybe Lou Will. Coincidentally, he fits their mold.
