I really hope this team passes on SGA, Mikal Bridges, and Khyri Thomas. While very good college players, I just don't see any of those guys contributing much on the NBA level for at least 3-4 years. On the other hand, I think Miles Bridges, Kevin Knox, Collin Sexton, and possibly Lonnie Walker are the guys we should want with the LA pick....they all seem like they could come in an contribute in a major way, right away.

The Detroit game (wednesday I think) is the most important one.
Going to root hard for Detroit.

You see Lonnie Walker contributing right away?

Me too

I don't think he will be available at #10/11 (where we will pick) so we need to trade up (probably with Bulls).

Agreed. I think teams like the Hawks, Bulls, Knicks and Hornets (who need young depth) will definitely see the benefits of trading say 7 for picks 10/11 and another pick in low 20s.

We can add Holmes/TLC also. Or some seconds.

We should be able to get him if we really want him I guess

The Sixers own pick is trending down. It might be a mid 20s pick by the time this is all said and done.

However, if Lolzo keeps leading the Lake Show to losses... it balances out.

Since the Lakers pick is overwhelmingly likely to be somewhere between 10 and 12 I think that we are in the range to draft Mikal. Getting the 10th pick obviously would give us a better chance at getting him than 12.

So cool that we might get homecourt in the playoffs and then add a lottery pick still.

You guys waited a long, long time to get this pick from the Lakers. This year alone, it went to Boston and miraculously returned after the AS break. Hope it turns into a decent productive 10-12 pick range pick for you guys.

After Hinkie left, it sucks to see 76ers losing the summer draft pick excitement. Hope Colangelo doesnt blunder more picks for you draft lovers. For the Lakers, we lost this pick but Magic and Pelinka have returned the summer draft pick excitement back to the draft loving Lakers fans like me.

Important night for the LA pick

Detroit against Lakers
Also Charlotte against NY

If Detroit and Charlotte win, they seperate themselves a bit from LA (and the 10th pick)

Lakers are without IT

Big night in progress. Lakers lose to the Pistons (bonus) and looks like the Hornets are going to beat the Knicks in overtime.

the plan is to get as good as quickly as possible....I fully believe we could have been a borderline playoff team last year by adding young veterans....using or draft picks and cap space.....can I specifically tell you who? no.

It happened. Lakers also officially eliminated from the playoffs. Even for a team without a pick that has to make them take the foot slightly off the gas.

50 wins and the 10th pick would be some nice round numbers.

Nah.

Too many rookies and too many FAs to take the foot off the gas. Luke is also trying to get the team to play team defense and team basketball so I expect them to keep playing hard.

Pick is still up in the air between #10 to #12.

Nah. It makes them take the foot slightly off the gas. Lose 1-2% of hope in a miracle. No disagreement here that the floor is 10/ceiling 12 of course.

That's cool your coach is trying to make your team play defense though.

Yeah. Luke has been serious about making the team think and hustle on defense. He will pull guys for missing assignments. This is a huge culture change from Dlo days.

Detriot has easiest schedule with 5 games against teams outside of the playoffs.
Lakers and Charlotte have 2 games against teams outside of the playoffs.
Lakers have 8 games out of 9 in Staples with 1 as an away game against Clippers.

Charlotte and Detroit have 7-8 games left and are 5+ games outside of the playoffs. In essense, they have to win all the games and hope the #8 seed goes something like 1-7. I would think Charlotte and Detroit could also take the foot off the brakes soon and try to get a better draft pick as they rest their starters and let they g-league 10 day contracts play their games.

The #10-#12 spots will be up in the air for the next 2 weeks.
