Somewhat of a tough shot to pick on because he was completely turned around before shooting.

I think the sooner we all accept this will be a multiyear process the better. We need him shooting jumpers in real games before we pick apart his mechanics IMO.

I would really LOVE to watch all of these "shot doctors" on Twitter and RealGM shoot a basketball in real life.

Well, fadeaway jumpers show fully how bad Ben's issues with elbow in his jumper are. Basically he looks like a right-handed player somehow turning and shooting as a left-hander. Tough shot showing how bad his mechanics are. Based on a first photo in that tweet, you'd say he's a right handed player, lol. I remember clearly that the same was pointed out last year when videos of Ben shooting jumpers went viral last offseason: yeah, it's great he was able to hit few jumpers in pick-up games, but even in these videos it's clear his mechanics are still bad.

Simmons won't give any spacing if he doesn't develop respectable jumper, and he won't do that until he fixes his mechanics. This assumption that he has to believe in his jumper and become willing to take shots in games is a myth. Right now, he's ~60%FT shooter with <30%FG on his mid range jumper on low usage, so even if he starts to take more jumpers, with his current jumpshot he won't provide any spacing or effective jumper, because players won't respect this shot.

I don't want to bash Ben based on one take, but until he fixes issues with his elbow I don't see any reason to believe he can become respectable as a shooter. It's fixable, everything is fixable, so that's why I still have hope.

He seems to be at his best when shooting off the dribble, he is very unconfortable with standstill shooting. He is not a player who is going to space the floor, but rather a player who could add a midrange jumper when he is driving to the rim and there is a double team waiting. So basically improve his halfcourt scoring game, not really the spacing of the team. At least this is how I see it.

Will hold off on any conclusions about his form based on one off highlights.

Said this last week when people were excited about his form looking good on a shot in a highlight, applies just the same when people want to draw conclusions based on a bad screenshot.

Of course he needs to work on his jump shot. That goes hand in hand with "believing in it".

I’d rather have him space out the floor than taking those ill advised mid ranged&challenged shots. I want him to be on the court when we need a 3. I want him to not hurt our spacing when we have to attack a mismatch.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I think he will continue to tweak it as his career goes along right now sixers just him to shoot the damn thing when hes wide open. The confidence to shoot it is first for now. It's going to take him more than one offseason to rebuild his shot basketball fans should know that.

Ofcourse the non sixers fans would love for him not to improve his shooting though and point out his mechanics even though not all players will the picture perfect form ex. Kevin Martin , Shawn Marion...

He should take the shots he is best at. If he is better at shooting midrange, then this is his best shot. A midrange shot is a good shot if you can make it at a good rate, not ill advised at all, despite what the modahnists tell you.

mobley was impressed though.
he went on fox during the playoffs (i think on CC's show with nick wright or maybe someone elses) and put ben on blast for not being able to shoot, he'll never be lebron, hes average etc, the usual stuff

but after having to guard him in that pick up game this he's changed his tune

it definitely sounds like kristapz lol, but i think he was saying chrisjohnson (trainer) and didn't pause before saying ben simmons, so when you say it really quickly it came out like that. gotta remember, dude just finished a 2 hour pick up game and looks tired af.

'hey listen,

gotta watchout for

chris johnson, ben simmons making those 15 footers like i told yall, he get that then its over, its over.'

Man.. this has pi55ed me off so much. I've stuck up with the guy through thick and thin but honestly this is almost the last straw for me. He should have just apologized... said he didn't know the conditions of entry that everyone 25 years and under is asked for ID... and that you can't wear hats or camo pants.... but nup... the guy has to double down instead and insist it was racially motivated to push his agenda.

He has lost quite a few fans in Australia in the last 2 weeks and there is quite the backstory to all of this which would take far too long to tell and puts it into perspective. Simmons seems to be on a one man mission though to prove how racist everyone is... and has hitched his wagon to one of the most divisive people in Australia to create a documentary on racism which is due to be released any day now. Now suddenly everywhere Ben is turning he is finding racism.

Not sure if you notice the amount of crap he has copped for his shooting.... or his supposed lack of work ethic... or him being "not a leader"... or how he is "arrogant".

Yup I tried sticking up for the guy but I was wrong. He is arrogant.

Yeah an odd amount of people online have this oddly personal beef with the guy but like most things online it doesn’t really reflect reality. He’s one of the most popular players in the world.
