The Knicks trading everything they have for a 31 year old guard making 40-50 million would be hilarious though.

Would be totally on brand for the Knicks.

I'd be very cautious about trading for Dame. 31 and out with a lingering injury having a career worst year shooting 36.5% from the field and 25.5% from three and whining about the new rules multiple times.
If I'm Portland I'm at least thinking about trading Dame while his stock is high, instead of CJ.
Neither play and defense and neither will help the Sixers fwiw.
Damian Lillard or CJ over a fat ZERO right now doesn’t help the Sixers?
always a jump shot away.

Re: Simmons Trade Thread - The Ocho
I like SGA but he has regressed this season. His superstardom is based on a limited 35 game sample last year that he will likely fail to replicate this year.
So I'm not included to just "throw in" Maxey in a deal for him. Hell by some metrics Maxey has outplayed SGA this year.
TL;DR - We can add to Ben, but Maxey is a bridge too far.

NO to "selling the farm" for Lillard. Not willing to add much to Ben in a swap.

SGA is on a roster full of dudes trying to figure it out.
Last year they had some semblance of NBA players and the year prior they made the playoffs.
Love Maxey but you give him up for SGA everytime lol. He's young, has size, is a willing shooter and locked down. That is the white whale of a Ben return.

I agree with you on Lillard, but disagree on SGA.

Even if SGA doesn't become a full-fledged superstar, he still has the skillset and playstyle to be a great pairing with Embiid. He's 6'6" and he both dribble penetrates and shoots threes. He's much of what we're asking for.

I am honestly serious. You're almost as bad as the other guy.
It makes sense. Harris 38 & 40 is saying the next two years are for sweet fa
If you think I’m bad as the other guy you have no clue. I’ve done well on my assessments
I don't know how many times I can say it without it sinking it- Kyrie Irving is ***** crazy* ... He's nuts. I mean he's a flat-earth, sage-burning dude who went from being all about pretending to be a Native-American to this year he has decided he's Muslim. Not that I care whatsoever. My point is, he's literally insane. He might wake up tomorrow and decide he needs to join the Black Hebrew Israelites and go scream at people on South Street. Walking around burning sage on the court to "honor his Native American heritage" ... my Mom was from Poland and my Dad's side came over from Ireland. Should I take a bottle of Chopin Vodka in one hand and a bottle of Jameson in the other and walk around lining the perimeter of the court with booze before games because I have to honor my heritage?!
Don't get me started on his vaccine "theories" ...
So we'd be trading for someone claiming Mental Illness injury for someone who is literally and figuratively insane.
I'm not sure how that seems legit to you.
Because then we have 38/40 off the books. I state things in direct correlation to this teams predicament.
It’s not if Irving plays or not that’s a bonus if he does.
Fact is 38/48 for Tobithus is a death sentence next two seasons.
Say the Ben coming back thing is out of the question too.
Okay there’s what 70mil that’s a negative value. Bringing anything back is addition by subtraction.
It’s a simple financial exercise if you’ve made a bad investment you get out of it as soon as possible because if it lingers you hemorrhage more the further you have the liable asset.
Irving has a PO that’s perfect for us. It means the cost is about zero and the return potentially can be amazing but even if it doesn’t happen it’s still great because now with Harris & Ben gone it opens up our flexibility. The upside is sky high and that’s a free thing
Trading 101. Ain’t about the personal/emotions it’s about what is needed to be done.
Could be as simple as Harris for CJ we win that trade shaving off 15mil and getting a better fit. No brainer
Or it could be Harden wants out and goes back to being Morey’s love child with us lol I don’t know if we have better strip joints compared to NY.
The trade deadline will shake things up

There's a reason Josh Giddey is the PG and not SGA. That's the skillset you should be asking for.

It's hilarious how people here complain about SGA not being the future super star some expected. Guys, what the **** are you expecting to get for Bum Simmons? be realistic please, stop pretending that the Simmons trade has to fix all of our problems and otherwise there is no point. Guys here talking like we are entitled to get a future superstar for Simmons, when he himself is not that good and a primadonna. Ben + Maxey + Thybulle for SGA would be a MASSIVE win period, Thybulle is a scrub let's be honest, and Maxey is just okay but that's it, you don't pass this opportunity for these players.

Collateral hits in a lot of places.
We trade Ben or Harris for a bag of peanuts we win because at least the bag of peanuts is ready to go.
I'm just saying that by doing so, be prepared to LOSE in the court of public opinion no matter what. It's not about winning anymore with all the emotional idiots that exist.

I don't think SGA is that guy and he's proving it this year.

Re: Simmons Trade Thread - The Ocho
The only guy that’s available the we’ve witnessed being that guy is probably under a bunker somewhere with pentagrams, hookahs, numbers on the wall and dressed in a Jedi robe putting his legs over his shoulders.
Maybe just maybe if we somehow get him we take him for a walk in the sun and we feed him the best Philly cheesesteak on planet earth and he might literally reset his own mindset. I mean that’s very much in the realm of possibility lol
He can do whatever he wants on the court and off the court as long as he plays. Freedom is his calling card

Would you do Simmons/Maxey/pick for him? What do you consider to be selling the farm?
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards
George/Watford/Barlow
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

Philly does bring out the best in SOME players
There has to be a 3rd team because OKC doesn't want Simmons obviously... Deal seems like a stretch

There's a reason Josh Giddey is the PG and not SGA. That's the skillset you should be asking for.
Because Giddey can't shoot and is useless off the ball. We've had enough of PGs that can't shoot or fit with other players. We've had that problem since the early 2010s.

Anything more than a straight up deal and I'm good on this proposition.
Lillard is not James Harden. Not even close.

Obviously you dont want a 19 year old rookie but someone who can pass the ball would be a plus.
