I’m probably overreacting but I’d place them 4th.

1. Celtics/Bucks
3. Sixers
4. Cavs
5. Nets/Heat/Raptors

Garland is so damn good and now he’s got Mitchell to run with? Kinda crazy that a defense might sell out to stop a Garland/Mobley PnR only to have to immediately rotate and guard a Mitchell/Allen PnR.

Their wings are better than people think imo. I hate watching Caris but he’s good, Okoro quietly improved last year and should be better, and Cedi Osman is a serviceable rotation guy.

No,he's not. If it wasn't for Garland the Cavs offense would been on the top bottom of the league last year.

Caris can score, but he's inefficient for the volume of shots he takes and he's a bad playmaker.

Okoro is a good/great defender but his offense is not good enough to be plugged for long stretches with Mobley and Allen.

I'm not sure you're overreacting at all. They're ascending, the young guys have had the experience of the heat of a late season playoff push, and they added one of the best guards in the league and a guy who can ease Garland's load. I see them in the same spot as you have them.

What's the thought on Chicago? They certainly over achieved for the first part of last season. Think they will be better in 2023 or worse?

I think Lonzo is done with how jacked up his knee is. Without him I think they’re stuck fighting for an 8 seed.

Better but same echelon.

The best way to get out from where they are is to trade Vuc. Vuc is holding them back. Vuc needs touches to be usable on offense, while giving him touches makes your offense worse. Consider that while Vuc isn’t a high impact D player to make up for it.

Bulls went guard heavy on offense. Lonzo run PnR (we have Harden) and Derozan run the ISO game (we have Embiid), which is typically the structure in most contenders. An ISO and PnR games. Vuc makes sense if you doubt Derozan’s ISO game, so Vuc can help carry the load. But on actual, it doesnt work because of the nature in Vuc’s game.

Replace Vuc with Robert Williams (i.E Myles Turner), then Bulls might be a Celts lite out there.

The Cavs are better but a bad trade to sacrifice all future pivot-ability. They accelerated their timeline but capped their ceiling to below championship level, IMO. I think with more patience and building around Garland and Mobley they had a path to real contention. They declared that they think Mitchell alone can lift them to that level in the next 3 years and I disagree.

The move does make the Sixers road through the conference tougher so it sucks from that perspective.

Regarding Cavs trade.

This is why my opinion about short cycle is valid. Its hard to create a dynasty nowadays because teams would come out of nowhere and make these “win now” moves.

We dodged a bullet when Celts didn’t land KD and Bucks didn’t try to pair KD with Giannis and Jrue with putting Middleton on the table and whatever picks they have.

The league is becoming predictable if you ask me. From roster structure to game play.

I totally forgot them when looking at how the East will shake out. They've now become a play-in possibility, but pretty damn good for a group fighting to be a 7-8 seed.

Just throwing it out there but I wouldn't be surprised to see Utah and the Lakers come together on an another trade. They want to move westbrick and the Jazz have attractive 3PT shooting options to surround Lebron with. Ainge loves him some picks wouldn't be surprised to see a deal happen

Anyone caught the Lithuania vs Germany game? That was such a great game! It’s like Game 7 of the NBA finals between a Jonas Valanciunas lead team over a Dennis Schroeder lead team  Franz Wagner was also amazing, his step back looks legit

The key to the Bulls season is Lonzo’s health. But my prediction is DeRozan and LaVine will not co-exist past this year.

In terms of best teams (not necessarily best RS record), I'll go with...

1. Milwaukee
2. Brooklyn
3. Boston
4. Philadelphia
5. Cleveland
6. Miami
7. Toronto
8. Chicago
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

I feel like the bulls got a lot of their wins early against teams dealing with injuries and/or Covid and no one dinged them for that but then when they had injuries and fell off people gave them that excuse. Williams could make a leap I guess.

Does anyone else besides me feel like this in-season tournament Silver is so hot for is a bunch of gimmicky garbage? I can't imagine fans will be any more hyped for the regular season with this - maybe a bit initially because of the novelty, but after that?

Want to make the regular season better? Make it a 65 game schedule and provide more incentive to be a higher seed than simply one more home game, like maybe having seeds 9 and 10 as playoff teams and the top two seeds getting a first round bye. Extra playoff games make up some of the lost revenue from the shorter schedule, and there is legit incentive to grind for a high seed.

That was just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are other ways to stoke interest without resorting to silly gimmicks no one cares about.
