If Embiid needed surgery it wouldve happened by now.

My sentiments exactly. You don't delay surgery for an athlete this long if he/she requires it. Not expecting surgery, but cautiously optimistic about when he'll be back on the court.

Well he just got back from a doctor's visit a day or two ago so they are still gathering opinions.

If the doctors were giving bad news though you wouldn't expect Embiid to be at practice like this.

I just don't want to jinx it. I'm still very worried.

Yea I totally understand the caution. If it makes you feel better, just know that if a surgery of this kind were recommended by ANY of the surgeons, they would demand that Embiid stays away from all on-court activities until the surgery is planned or further notice. Depending on the nature of the "injury", basketball activity could alter the anatomy of his foot. Most surgeons would feel very uncomfortable opening him up if there were any chance it could look different on the day of the operation.

Just curious, what is the rationale in thinking that Embiid's growth spurt inhibited his foot healing? I could see some could reason that it put more stress on his foot, but that's just weight, really, which could have come without the height. If his bones were still growing, it should have made the healing process easier.

Well... I'm not an expert at all just me trying to think logically... or what I deem logical anyway; but a screw in the foot of a still growing Embiid, wouldn't it be like that of a screw in a piece of wood, that expands (due to moisture, irrelevant but nonetheless it's how would usually expands far as I know), if the wood expands (Embiid growing) wouldn't the screw lose grip in the foot, (hole expanding as well as the threads). As I said I'm not expert, but this scenario came to mind last night while thinking of the situation.

Then again foot probably doesn't expand out, it likely grows out... calcium deposits or something like that idk how the process goes; but accumulation on top of the bone already there? Idk i'm tired so forgive xD

I'm surprised we have not heard anything yet. Brown seemed to think we would have by the end of the week. I can't see them doing it on tomorrow unless it's good news. Would have really expected them to try to slip it in today so it could get lost in the holiday weekend festivities. Maybe a nice announcement before Okafor takes the floor on Monday night on CSN. Oh by the way guys Embiid is out for the year boom lol.

Remember, I heard that after the season that Okafor lost like 15 + pounds before the draft process. So he is probably like 260 to 265 Max there. But Embiid looks to be around 2 to 3 inches taller. No more then 3 though. But, that could be a lot of size for us going forward, and a super fast-twitch High Jumping Athlete in Noel to cause Havoc with his length and superior quickness. Got to be Happy with that folks.

Seriously. I freeze framed the video of them standing next to each other and Embiid is at least 3 or 4 inches taller.

Unfortunately neither one of them have any reliable barefoot measurements recently.

I am guessing that Okafor is about 6'10 and Embiid is at least 7'1.

I want to see a good shot of Okafor standing next to Noel because we know that he was 6'10 at the combine.

Nobody doubts that he can put on weight. I'm not sure what you are implying.

He just shouldn't be that heavy.

Ironically, physically Embiid reminds me a lot of when Bynum was the same age (although Bynum was never skinny like Embiid was a few years ago.) Bynum went from sort of flabby to in being in shape, while embiid went from skinny to huge, so the change is more noticeable.
