I don't want him on an NBA court until he's back to shooting like he did in college. Take all the time you need.

All new respect for Fultz playing through that. Sounds very painful.
People thought he and the Sixers were making it up, turns out the opposite was true. The guy is a warrior battling through that to try and help the team.

Wouldn't it have been lovely if they got that diagnosis oh I don't know.... 8 farking weeks ago!!!
Instead he has been playing and shooting on it which I am sure was doing it a world of good.
I actually don't mind if he just takes as long as he needs... I also wouldn't bring him back until he is shooting it like he was in College. None of this "Oh he can still be out there driving to the basket" rubbish.
Right now we can focus on Joel and Ben getting used to playing together with Bayless playing the role of Fultz understudy until Markelle is ready to come back. If that's after the all-star break so be it. We aren't winning a ring this year... I don't think.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion II
ahaha i dont want him to play until he is healthy but honestly, what are the chances of this; Nerlens injured in first year, Okafor injured in first year, Embiid injured in first two yeas, Simmons injured in first year and now Fultz injured in first year. Our first pick for the last five years has been injured.

I don’t want Fultz to come back until he shoots like a normal basketball player.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion II
How hard is it to say that Fultz is hurt thats why he changed his mechanics? Maybe the reason is the nature of how he hurt his shoulder. Was it Fultz, keith williams, a teammate (like ben's injury) or maybe its the team's fault.
My gut feel is he was doing exercise that was under team instruction and supervision that with the team's history, they didnt want to make it look incompetent.
Maybe Fultz can't handle the extra weight/training after overworking his arms pre-draft.
They'd rather look incompetent with their transparency and communication (hell maybe it was intended so we all can focus on that) than incompetent with how they handle players' health.
Nevertheless, I dont see this as something major relative to say Hayward or Embiid level injury scare.

Yes sir.
I find team's attacking this Fultz issue as teams that are insecure with how promising our team is. Common denominators? Celtics and Lakers fans.

Sounds like this thing is gonna take months, which in Sixers terms means many many months
I think that the 3 week timeline was stated for when he will next be evaluated, and not when he is expected to be back on the court.
As I said before, I'm ok with all of this. I just want him physically correct. We don't need him in a basketball sense today, just like we wouldn't have needed any of the possible draft picks this year. Rookies like Simmons and Embiid are big time exceptions to the rules of being consequential from the start.
Bring him back when he is ready to be the player that he was before the injury.

I just want a reporter to come out and ask BC why they all of a sudden shut him down when his agent came out and said something. It shouldn’t take an agent to say something in order to get Fultz to sit out until he shoots normally. No matter if it’s Fultz who isn’t really hurt or is really hurt or whatever isn’t what bugs me. It’s that the Sixers only shut him down after the agent spoke to Woj. It shouldn’t take that. Anyone watching the game could see Fultz didn’t play his normal game. The Sixers should be the bigger man and cover for Fultz even if isn’t really hurt. They shouldn’t be throwing a 19 year old under the bus.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion II
Honestly... after hearing some of the Brian Colangelo comments in this video he makes it extremely hard to like him or even believe him.
The basically comes across like this:
Fultz: My shoulder hurts and I am struggling to shoot
Colangelo: Doctor says nothing structurally wrong... go out there and play.
Fultz: But I can't lift my arm.
Colangelo: Go see the doctor and get a cortisone.
Fultz: Ok I want to be out there... I just can't shoot jumpers.
Colangelo: (to media) "His shot mechanics have been hurt by whatever is going on....... or vice versa"
Fultz Agent: His shoulder is hurting... he had an injection.
Colangelo: (to media) "It's been obvious he hasn't been willing or committed to shooting outside of the paint. We are working on that"
Shoulder Specialist: He has a shoulder injury... you need to have him rest indefinitely.
I mean seriously... one of these people are calling the other a liar. In this case though... I am siding with the independent specialist. Oh and every member of the Sixers medical staff should now be sacked.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion II
You guys are killing me.
From the sound of it, Fultz did this while weight lifting, no question in my mind. Fultz has probably worked out harder this summer than anytime in his life for this season. Guess what, he's had enough talent to not have to lift all that hard really, all he's done is play ball with his god given gifts.
If your not used to lifting, stuff like this happens, happened to me when I started back lifting. My dad was like, why are you injured...well lifting, especially in Fultz's case were he's probably not done much of it hard-core before, stuff happens like this.
He isn't shut down for the year, so just stop. It does take a while though, but we are dealing with a kid who ate Chick-fil-a everyday and tried to jump into an NBA training program while doing it. He will learn from it, and be fine.

Good luck getting BC to say it. As much as we all want him to, this is probably a cover-up from Scott O'Neil and Josh Harris. The ownership is completely **** with this team. They did exactly that. They threw a 19-year-old under the bus, so they could sell extra tickets, and didn't want to make it seem like their crackpot medical team messed up again. The biggest issue I have is, how they are allowed to continue working on our players when all they have done is misdiagnose injuries, have borderline malpractice incidents, and utterly destroy industry based recovery timelines.

Ughghg we have officialy become the laughing stock of the media. Can you blame them? If there is a coverup, then again the organization is full of morons. You'd rather shame your #1 overall pick and rick their future, because of what? More tickets? I'm not saying that's the reason, but it just doesn't jive well at all. I'd trust the organization a lot more if Futlz's agent didn't come out with this, and then Keith Williams essentially saying, Fultz changed the shot because of the injury, while also saying that Brett Brown basically lied. That's the worse of it all. They are not only snakes, but they got what seems to be one of the most genuine guys on the team in Brett Brown in on this as well. Fack meee!!!

BC may not answer but I want the question asked why it took for the agent to say something to shut Fultz down.

He'll answer us just like how he spoke to the media prior to training camp, when Embiid wasn't cleared for 5 on 5.
