I do see a world in which Harper is Killian Hayes. Not saying it’s likely, but if you squint…
always a jump shot away.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft (2)
I'd be willing to give that Clippers pick to get Harper. He's not a perfect prospect, but seems like a clear tier above the guys we have available to us and is an elite fit with Maxey and/or McCain.
Harper straight up falling to #3 would be sick though.
Of course, if we had the #2 pick, we'd be picking him apart right now and bugging about the shooting and Rutgers sucking.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft (2)
How do you guys see Harper fitting with Maxey? With Tre or Edge it would be seamless, but with Harper i have my doubts, since i dont know if Tyrese would be happy becoming more of a off guard now, since he´s used to be the "pg" since Harden left.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft (2)
In the last 122 games (span of 2 complete seasons), Maxey is only shooting 35% from three. Which is right about where Harper will likely shoot, percentage-wise. One of the reasons I prefer Tre Johnson. Having a reliable shooter at the SG spot is ideal. With both Grimes and Johnson, we'd put ourselves in position to always have that.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft (2)
I’m not that high on Jared McCain, but I probably wouldn’t trade up either. I’d rather keep a strong fallback option in case the third overall pick doesn’t pan out. I prefer to spread my bets, either one hits big, or I have the flexibility to package them later for a low risk, high reward opportunity like trading for Giannis.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft (2)
I think he would be a good fit. Maxey is an undersized combo guard. His weaknesses are defense and playing the point. Harper could take the tougher assignment on defense and seems can handle point duties. This doesn't mean Maxey can't play point, but at the very least they can mix it up and offers options on the offense.sodmoraes wrote:How do you guys see Harper fitting with Maxey? Yep, i thought Maxey was projecting to be a close to 40% shooter from 3, with good volume, but in the last couple of season he´s trending more to be a low 30% shooter, which is not what i was expecting. I may be wrong but i think i saw last year some stats saying that he still shoots well from CS 3s, but his off the dribble pullups 3s are pretty bad, but im not sure. He was really good shooting 3s from the corner too, and playing as a lead guard he almost never get that shot opportunities, so atleast with Harper, he would have that shot more often.

Probably because he’s taken on a bigger role with increased volume of 3s, especially with more off the dribble 3s, compared to when he was the third option playing alongside Harden.

This western team is the Pels BTW
If the trade down is for a "star" or any combination of players but doesn't include a lottery pick and hopefully more draft capital, I'm 100% out. If it only involves players coming back, it looks like I'll be sitting out another season.

I don't give a **** what Maxey is shooting in the last 114.6045 games. He's an elite shooter.

He's better off ball than on ball.

Almost 20% of his 3s are corner 3s in year 3. Only 7-8% in the last two seasons. He was automatic on those corner 3s.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft (2)
Maxey's 3PT shooting has been down because he's been surrounded by absolute garbage most of the last 2 seasons while Embiid has been out.
Put an actual team that can space the floor around him and his percentages will be higher again.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft (2)
Maxey is a great shooter imo just has been tasked with taking tougher shots and also his hand was **** up last season.
People are in such a rush to trade him lol. He's won us playoff games each of his playoff appearances. Has a mailable game and is entering his prime.
I don't get it lol

Re: 2025 NBA Draft (2)
If I'm forced to stay at #3, I'm taking VJ or Tre Johnson. Then I'm trading McCan and salary fillers (Oubre, Drummond) for a power forward.
Or....packaging George and McCain in a bigger deal.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft (2)
Maxey will have an excellent season next year. He was dealt a difficult hand where his co-stars were unexpectedly absent or terrible. He’ll come back with some new tools off of that learning experience and he will be great.
