I'd much rather have VJ than Tre, but it's also possible that Kon drops to 6 if CHA doesn't take him. But damn, I would've loved to have had #18 and maybe a future pick.

Otherwise, is Fleming or anyone else worth burning a few second to move up a few spots?

Fleming is absolutely worth it for this team.

I absolutely would have traded down for #6 and #18 or #7 and the NOP pick next year if available.

Would have taken Tre at #6 and grabbed KJ at #18. Or would have taken Noa at #7.

It was a CBS report that Bodner referenced. However, if you follow the Sixers organization closely, you know that report makes no sense. Reporters throw a lot of crap out there to try exchange favors with their sources because they know some fans will latch onto anything.

If you choose to believe that report, then were all the reports of them possibly trading down lies? Or did Josh Harris issue this demand one hour before the draft?

After five years of Morey running the Sixers front office like the Wild West, Harris draws the line at trading down on a draft pick lol. Morey gets caught tampering, lost draft picks for not disclosing injuries, fined multiple times for not reporting injuries as per league rules, Ben holdout, Harden holdout, sign a 35 year old to a $200+ million contract, sign an injured player to a four year extension over a year before his contract expires… but Harris finally steps in to tell him he can’t trade down.

At the PHLY draft watch one of them, forget which, came out and off the air said no one in org would deny the report outright, but also weren't willing to confirm. Sounds like it actually might be true.

I don’t believe it. Harris doesn’t get involved in that stuff and certainly wouldn’t care about trading a pick.

That is stuff people leak with an agenda. For instance, they prob know a contingent of the fanbase was split on the pick and would have preferred to move back, and this leak would dump it on Harris. The same way Morey keeps pushing out that it was a team decision to give Embiid an extension over a year early. When the extension was done, Morey was taking credit for getting it done. It blows up in his face and he starts saying it was a team decision.

I think this was a horrible draft to get the three pick. Having a nice trade down option would have given us multiple avenues to create value.

There hasn’t been any credible reports of a team offering anything like that. However, Dumars was pretty aggressive, so it wouldn’t surprise me.

It was a great draft to get the third pick. We got VJ!

I watched a five minute YouTube scouting video and was pretty impressed; however, I didn’t know who he was before last night. I guess if you are trading a future second to move up only five spots, it has to be a real value. I believe they have an extra 2nd in 2027 they could use. If Minny wanted more than that, I don’t know how much more you could offer.

Agreed. The draft really fell off once you got past the 4th pick. :o

I don’t watch college hoops, but how would you rate the third pick value in this draft vs your third prospect in the 2023 and 2024 draft?

In which of the last three drafts do you see the best probability of getting a star at 3?

It doesn’t matter who was actually selected third, but judging by who was available when the pick was made?

For me, Kon at 6 and KJ at 18 would have been perfection. My two favorite guys in the draft.

Widely reported that New Orleans wanted Ace... Charlotte VJ... Utah Fears (and that's before the rumors of them shopping Sexton and Clarkson), likely Tre to DC and Kon at 7. Plus a pick next year when Philly doesn't have one or 18.

I'm curious about this too. I might honestly have him over Risacher and Sarr as a prospect?

I'm the furthest thing from a Kon Artist but I could stomach picking him at #6 after getting additional assets. Would have actually preferred another trade down instead if possible.

Anyway what's done is done. We got the best athlete in the draft... the next Russell Westbrook!

Neubeck thinks the Sixers could try to move up tonight(not reporting it) because Fleming is a perfect fit.

I think 35 and a future 2 gets it done based on the price of trades today.

Let's hope he's not as dumb as Westbrook.

Morey being paranoid to put out leaks that they weren't allowed to trade down because he didn't like the offers he was getting/was sold on VJ.

Seems preferable to be honest? They clearly read this board, Reddit, and listen to the Ricky.

Hopefully it's an ishy future 2nd. Fleming is a good fit but Thiero and Markovic have more upside. Someone we want should be there at #35.

I'd rather have Fleming than Markovic but it's close. How do they get 31 and 33? Assuming BOS isn't trading 32.

Point taken. I'll see myself out.
