Richaun was real bad last game.
I don't think he had a bad game. Not a great game, but not a bad game. He did have 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block in 23 minutes. He did have 2 TOs which wasn't the best, but he didn't cost us the game.
Beyond the stats, I see someone who is a great diver on the pick and roll. He's developing a nice chemistry with Sergio. He tries to finish off his chances above the rim and with power, and when he can't, he shows a soft and accurate touch around the rim with a quick release. He doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective on offense and he's efficient. He's basically what we all wish Nerlens would be on the offensive end.
On defense he's rebounding better than last season. He's blocking shots. He's active. Perhaps Nerlens would still be better on defense in potential (especially on the pick and rolls), but Holmes is playing credible defense on the 2nd team.
Bottom line, whatever is going on with Nerlens is causing him to miss games, and Holmes has taken those minutes and performed satisfactorily while flashing some potential at the same time (e.g. a decent jump shot). Holmes continued development could make it a lot easier to move on from Nerlens.
