Embiid not playing against UTAH is just ridiculous. So frustrating.

He needs to play against Gobert, he is maybe the longest player in the league and it would benefit him to learn how to beat him.

Yeah, its a very strange decision to rest him due to load after such a long layoff. They must be counting practices in his load, but they should have just sat him for a practice or two instead of a game.

Whatever though. As long as he stays healthy I'm down.

Just after everything was getting exciting again, they sit him. Until he can play every game, looks like I'll have to be doing some "load management" myself.

Its just completely perplexing how you can sit him after 4 days off for load management if he's healthy. Just doesn't make much sense. I smell a cover up.

The reason he’s not playing against Utah.
Spoiler:
Too many Shirley Temples made him gain weight and now they are sitting him out to get him to lose the Shirley Temple weight.

Maybe it's the increased minutes doing that. He has gone from 16 min games last year looking spry to playing 30 mins the other night. Seems like his cardio is completely up to s#@t and that has less to do with weight. You can be overweight and still have good cardio.

Brett Brown also made a point that with the reduced time outs this year he can't give Embiid as many short rests as he'd like simply because he has less timeouts to use.

How do you go from "he should play like January last year" to saying "16 min games"? In January, he was playing with a 28 min restriction and went slightly over quite a few times. His January MPG were actually very similar to his MPG this season.

This is obviously conditioning. The lack of 5 on 5 over the summer is showing now. This has been confirmed by Brown.

No doubt he's about 10 pounds too heavy and not in tip top shape.

Anyone else think the sixers will be the first team to be fined for resting healthy players because of this? He's clearly out of game shape, the best to get into game shape is playing games. So he's either injured and they're lieing or they don't wanna play him because of the elevation which is unacceptable IMO.

I don't think the league cares unless its a national tv game.

Lack of fitness and playing at altitude might be the answer moreso than the knee

Utah has higher elevation. Air is thin there. That’s why they are resting him. At least that’s my opinion.
