Brett Brown also made a point that with the reduced time outs this year he can't give Embiid as many short rests as he'd like simply because he has less timeouts to use.

How do you go from "he should play like January last year" to saying "16 min games"? In January, he was playing with a 28 min restriction and went slightly over quite a few times. His January MPG were actually very similar to his MPG this season.
This is obviously conditioning. The lack of 5 on 5 over the summer is showing now. This has been confirmed by Brown.
