The last time Embiid was on the floor with 4 respectable outside shooters (no, 1 3P attempt per 36 minutes TJ doesn't count), it was 2 years ago and the backcourt was Sergio and Stauskas.

I'd be interested to see us try out Redick/Shamet/Butler/Muscala/Embiid for a few minutes here and there. Butler and Shamet sharing point duties, with a heavy dose of Butler/Embiid pick and roll. Obviously that lineup would be questionable defensively, though.

His true shooting has officially dipped down to 57.9%. It feels like he's dropped 3% over the last month.

Embiid took one shot last night in the second half. And the sixers still got blown out.

He looked disinterested as the game continued not to go his way. Part of it has to do with him not finding the open shooter out of the double team and he tries to do hero ball with shot clock winding down.

Part of it is sixers do not have enough outside shooting. Teams are daring chandler Muscala and obviously Ben to take the open shot.

With the new rules punishing defense that doesnt switch, how many times do we see us designing plays for Biid to punish smaller defenders that switches on D?
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

What is going on with Embiid's defense, specifically his pathetic lack of rim protection?

This smalls are driving right down the lane for layups and Embiid stands there stone faced and stone footed and lets them do it. Is it lack of effort? A mental block? WTH is this?

If Simmons + Embiid were a championship caliber duo we would have seen it by now. They are both missing a variety of intangibles including basketball IQ and that rare gift of killer instict that the greats have. KAT + wiggins on bad end of the scale and Shaq + Kobe on the good end. These 2 are touching elbows with Kat + wiggins imo miles from Shaq + Kobe. .

Shaq & Kobe took a few seasons to gel and were much more experienced than our 2 when they won their first title together

Shaq is much more talented than Embiid, Simmons talent is amazing and may be closer to Kobe, but obviously the difference in work ethic and in coasting on talent is massive, so the gap is very big.
Embiid and Simmons is not a championship caliber duo. The closest thing we have is Embiid + Butler, which still remains to be seen if it is a championship caliber duo. Simmons doesn't belong as long as he continues to suck against elite teams.

Blame our terrible guard defense, and our new defensive scheme.

Simmons is not very talent, his offensive skills is below average,he just rely his height to bully against lottery team,if he is as athletic as Lebron or Glannis,he doesn't need shoot to be effect, right now,Ben is always has gd stats but no impact, more like a stats paddar

If u want to talk about lack of rim protection. Just wait and look at sixers when he’s off the floor. The lane is open all day even more.

There is only so much he can do.

He can’t erase all the mistakes the other perimeter guys have. Sure. He makes mistakes on defense. But more often enough. He has to make the decision whether to waste fouls trying to defend the rim. He has to make decision whether to expend energy to defend.

He has insane height for a guard, amazing frame and quickness that allows to power his way to the rim effortless, elite IQ, elite vision, elite handles, all the things you can't teach, dude has won the genetic lottery big time, people wonder why I hate him, it is because the vibe he emits of "I have always been the most talented, no need to work on my shot, I will keep coasting on talent, I will always be good powering my way to the rim against smaller defenders and using my gifts" mentality. When he plays, the vibe I get is that he is where he is ONLY because of his gifts, he has done nothing to improve other things. In fact, he was even a better FT shooter in college, he has regressed. Which shows lack of work ethic and laziness, and that he doesn't give a **** about improving, he is content just using his amazing gifts, it is the easier route of course.

He is Dwight's type, only can rely on his athlectism, but he doesn't have freak of nature athlectism, plus he isn't as talent as Embiid,Embiid is a quick learner like Kawhi,Simmons just doesn't have it

What's you're take on all of this? He just frustrated? I mean I get that, but I wish he would keep this stuff in house, as much as i agree with what he's saying.

Any rumors about buy out candidates we are targeting, or trades we want to make to shore up the bench/starting lineup?

Thanks man!

Simmons is not very talented????

That's gotta be the worst observation of a player this year.......

It's actually the total opposite, he's got endless talent. But like a few other people have said, it's whether or not he uses his talent to become the player he should.

In three years he hasn't grown in the one area he needs to (Shooting). Talent be damned, his talent goes to complete waste when he can't open up the offense. A PG who can't shoot is useless on this team. He doesn't realize that.

he didn't improve anyting on his game,he can't shoot, pathetic free throw shoorer, poor finnisher at the rim when it's not open, not to mention his playmarking getting overhyped,he can't run pick and roll, liabilty getthe ball to embiid in the post, all he can do is drive and kick to shooter jack up three.that's all

There's a larger thread, but you'd think if teams are going to make adjustments, Brett would have the foresight to make adjustments of his own and attack the double team.

fl311, any concern about Embiid's knee is it just trying to sneak a rest day, or potential game off so he can rest?

Hope it's nothing serious.
