Of course. No one in their right mind would turn down being overpaid by $80M.

The damage done to this franchise by the totally incompetent leadership of Colangelo and Brand can never be undone.

Yep, another situation where I was critical of the front office. It's almost like this was all very easy to see if some a-hole on a forum can see how stupid every move was in real time.

I strongly disliked the Tobias trade. I accepted the contract before it even happened. Once we traded for him, we were stuck.

Three more years of him at 36, 37.5, and 39. Ugh

We literally gave a 200 M contract to a player who never was nothing special, just averaged like 14 ppg in the Playoffs and had marginal impact and was a questionable fit around our two young stars.

We deserve to suck.

Has he really scored 6 points in the last 6 quarters?

I can’t find the post, but “I’m an all-star”‘s 4th quarter shooting stats for this series are pathetic

My favorite is when he was around 24ppg and was quietly scoring those points, everyone was hating on him since they weren't obviously knowing his impact. That's literally his job as the third dude: provide scoring buffer during the non-dominant Embiid parts of the game. The points scored by Tobias still count the same as the points scored by Embiid or any other player.

I'm obviously frustrated with his play last game, but he's probably not even top 10 of reasons why our backs are against the ropes in this series.

He should learn to pace himself. Save his energy when he’s playing with the starting unit and just go super saiyan when he plays with the bench unit.

The best part of our team is that we have two players who have elite endurance and athleticism, but neither can play a lick of offense (Thybulle and Simmons).

I agree he was good this year. Strongly DISAGREE that he's #10 on the list of reasons.

He's no worse than #3 behind Ben and maybe the coach. He is choking right when we need him the most.

He still hasn't figured it out. He should be spamming Covington-esque 3's when he's w/the starters. Instead he feels compelled to hesitate and dribble into long 2s and compromise our spacing.

He should only pull out his midrange "bag of tricks" when he's with the bench as the #1 option.

Ben's shortcomings, roster construction, Danny Green's injury, Joel's nagging injury, Shake's decline, Trae's hot hand, Doc's rotations, Dwight's ineptitude this series, unclutch moments at the end of games, and Hawks defensive adjustments are all ahead of Tobias's game 5 performance imo. Every other game in this series he's been excellent (nearly 60% FG, 44% 3FG, 21ppg, 7 reb, 3.5 ast). I can't blame a series on one bad game from him.

Tobias is the highest paid player in the roster. He says he deserves an All star appearance but his game is like someone earning 10 ~ 20 M. Elton Brand made a big mistake trading for him and giving him the max contract

Harris is not worth near 40mil a year it’s as simple as that.

Better off with a outside high lvl creator for this team which it needs badly. Took to Game 6 and for a rookie for Doc to realize this, actually his hand was forced out all things lol.

It’s very simple Milton and Maxey aren’t PG’s they are scoring guards. When Embiid sits and Harris ain’t cutting it let one of them go to town get the ball and score no facilitating just score. Whoever is cooking early (bring them on in the last three in the first) ride it all the way to the moon.

It’s so bloody obvious. Why? Because both have shown to get buckets quickly. That all we need nothing special. Keeps the offense afloat so we don’t go in stretches at a time where we can’t because off whose out there. Conserves the Big guys gas tank so he’s not dead by the 4th.

Heck I’d run a super little league team of:

Maxey
Milton
Curry
Harris
Howard (Heck run Ben at the five and go hell for leather, insert Kork if someone’s cold). As long there’s two ballhandlers.

And try to stack on as much pressure as possible.

Embiid/Harris/Ben your team is already top heavy with no where near enough offensive offset.(defensively as well, Harris is not great and Ben can be screened off repeatedly.)

You know, getting a few calls to get to the line each game would go a long way with this guy.

Tobias needs to be traded for a scorer. Even a disgruntled one like Irving or sexton. He has got to.. Bad fit with jojo and simmoms. Embiid and Tobi got swept be boston in first rd with no simmons last year. Simmons is way more valuable especially moved to powerforward next year. A ball handler down the stretch would drastically upgrade the team. I would look to replace his smallforward/pf size with a otto porter in free agency. A trade to look into is a sexton and kevin love for tobias. Good for both teams. 76ers get a back up 5/4 who can stretch it. Sexton gives us a 1 b scoring option . cavs get a veteran piece who fits in perfectly at powerforward and fixs their lockerroom chemistry.

I feel like I'm the only one that likes Tobias. Imo he's still worth keeping unless you can get a sweet second scorer to Embiid. If we moved Ben for that piece then Tobias would fall into that third role perfectly and still have Curry. Embiid , Traded for player , Tobias & Curry is a sweet scoring lineup.

If possible, I'd trade him to Portland for CJ. But that also depends on what we decide to do with Simmons.

Sell high on Tobias. Bad fit with Embiid. Proof we got swept by Boston with no Ben and just Embiid. His numbers don't impact our wins. Trade him and shake for a scoring 1B. Collin Sexton, Irving ,CJ ....

I believe Ben and Embiid are still a great duo who need that scoring guard third piece that markelle fultz was suppose to be.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
