Kinda crazy that the top 3 seeds (& top 3 title favs) will probably all be looking for a new coach in the offseason. That feels like an unprecedented situation.

That's because there are no super teams and the competition is so mediocre, so front offices are angry when their teams don't meet expectations when the competition is so bleh. If the Bucks lost to a dynastic team, Budenholzer wouldn't have been fired. Same with Monty Williams.

To be fair, #1 seed lost in the first round, which is pretty unforgivable. The 2 seed is about to get swept in the ECF against the 8 seed with a former interim coach who might have been hastily hired full time. He's probably also not a major financial commitment like a Doc Rivers. We're firing Doc after three straight 2nd round exits where we looked outclassed against inferior opponents (I put Celtics as inferior this year because Tatum has been underperforming the entire playoffs).

I think the nuanced details are important which get dismissed in the media.

If Mazzula is indeed fired, Morey better make up his mind on a head coach and fast lol.

Go check all the comments many Sixers fans made about Heat when we played during 2018 playoffs 1st round against them. Many were mocking their culture and how they were a treadmill team. But specifically I remember how most fans mocked their "culture", will never forget the wisdom this board has 8-)

Bam still just has PF length. I don't see him as anything but an energy big off the bench.

IDK who said that but it wasn't me. That was before they landed Butler. All things equal, Miami is a more attractive destination for star free agents than we are. They were able to land LeBron, Wade and Bosh so that definitely counts for something.

Yeah, Jokic is just so much more advanced than Joel on offense. I think Embiid has a bigger effect on defense when locked in, but it’s not really close on the other end.

He also has more reliable teammates to take the load off of him. But congrats to Jokic and Nuggets. Sixers fans generally don't dislike the nuggets or jokic. Can't say the same thing about nuggets fans who were actively rooting for embiid and sixers to lose.

Once again, sorry to Heat Culture, but the Nuggets are going to slaughter.

The thing is Embiid doesn't have to be as good as Jokic on the offensive end. If he was simply an adequate passer out of double teams, we'd advance past the second round on multiple occasions.

Definitely true, but it’s clear Embiid doesn’t have the “bag” Jokic has. He is a liability with the call in his hands longer than 3 dribbles while Jokic is essentially a guard. There’s also the passing aspect that is not even comparable. I think if Jokic had worse teammates, he’d score more ppg, but he’s more comfortable getting it to his scorers.

Also agree wholeheartedly: like this Nuggets team a lot, don’t like the fans. If it weren’t for them, I’d easily be cheering for the Nuggets to win their first.

I think so. That's going to be an interesting final regardless.

Notably Jokic never said anything nice about the fans even when prompted after winning his award.

Lmao, Darvin Ham crying about LeBron not getting a foul call at the end of the game when it was clearly not a foul.

Fire up the CP3 to LAL rumors. They need him to get over the hump!

Hopefully Miami finishes off the Celtics tonight, and we should have a really interesting final. I had no intention of watching BOS-LA, just wouldn't have been able to deal with the gushing broadcasts, but DEN-MIA should be a lot of fun.

Adam Silver's serpent head must be ready to explode right now.

Nuggets fans def don’t deserve Jokic. Trash city and trash fanbase. Will be rooting for Jimmy, the only true baller this team has had since AI.

The West has been trash all year though.

Denver beat a mediocre Minnesota squad, a PHX team that was thrown together 8 days ago, and a Laker team that was out of the playoffs until Silver gifted them a Westbrook trade.

Props to them for making the Finals. But (presumably) Miami is a completely different animal than what they've faced up to now.
