You need to take a break, for your health.

Lol I'm totally fine. Just so annoyed with this team and how they send out information. I am rarely on the GB anymore btw.

This sort of messaging only happens with Embiid and no other player so it seems safe to assume Embiid is causing it. Like whenever he has an injury and they wait until the last second to say he's active before the game, it's almost certainly because he doesn't want them to say one way or the other until he goes through his whole warmup.

Sometimes it's covering something, sometimes it's just the coach doesn't want to speak out of turn without confirmation. Without having any way to know I'm just not gonna worry about it.

By my count he hasn't played a road preseason game since 2019, fwiw.

Also since it sounds like they're going to be next-level conservative with him this year I would be prepared for a lot of this stuff lol

Not that it means anything, but Joel also eats this stuff up, for whatever reason. It is what it is.

With the way this is worded I'm not sure if he plays the first games of the season.

I'm guessing that for Embiid you have a number for a whole year (PS included) and the staff probably have a outlined games to miss or play.

At least from my poi it makes logical sense

Heck I wouldn't have it any other way. If the max number is 70 couldn't care less if he plays 50 in the reg as long as he's fully healthy come playoffs (which basically has never happened before)

Anyway two things: 1. Council might be the guy out of the youngins to get the most burn

2. Buyer beware on Martin. Spo and Pat are ruthless weve seen this song and dance before. It's a cheap deal just tempering performance expectation

Yeah this is the part that infuriates me. That being said, i did hear a plausible scenario. They are going to be abundantly cautious. No major issues have occurred, but they are going to rest him a bunch in the season, and saying knee management now will give them them latitude to use that as an excuse so they league doesn't come down on him hard for missing potential nationally televised games etc. I think that makes sense, and truly hope that's the reason.

Yeah, Caleb Martin has the same chances of being a solid contribuitor as of end up being completely irrelevant and out of the rotation.

90% playing not to get injured
10% playing against Serbia

Not saying a lot but Jared McCain has more upside than Scoot Henderson, who is looking like Mudiay 2.0

Bleh, Martin would still be in Miami if his manager was competent. If Martin falls off, it is because of the system and that the guy just got out of his prime, not because of some masterful Riley move.

It's not like Riley is some visionary who never gets it wrong.

All the talk of course goes to the upgrade on the wing with PG, but I think Caleb Martin is an upgrade over Melton. He has more versatility to his game. Can put the ball on the floor much better than Melton could. Melton really was almost purely a spot up shooter. Remember how ugly it looked when he had to handle the ball(the fastbreak mishaps). I think Martin is going to be a quality glue guy.

Was just going to post this. Caleb Martin is basically a Melton role replacement on this team.

I saw another message board They do not plan on playing Joel in back-to-back games at all this year. I apologize if this is not true.

Yeah Bomtemps wrote that Embiid said that, though Bomtemps said on a podcast that Embiid also said if it was like a Boston/NY B2B he would probably play.
