If he was hurting, the fact he played in that game is an absolute joke and yet more evidence that the players run **** in this organization and they dictate whenever they’re going to play.

Load management, here we come.

Only silver lining is seeing if this team can pick up the slack in his absence. Ben did it last year, so hopefully we see that again.

Wow this is messed up. Either Embiid was injured and played in the All Star game anyway. OR he was injured IN the All Star game.
Well at least this means more minutes for Boban and Bolden.

Yeah, this seems a bit erratic strategically. If he was experiencing knee pain then he should have just sat for the Allstar break. It makes it seem like he tweaked it in the Allstar game and they don’t want to say that.

Oh well, if he is back in a week then so be it. This is a hell of a lot better than discovering that he got the injury that Korkmaz just got.

Of course it will, we are just a much better team when Ben is our best option, he proved it last year.

Agree. Last year Ben as the main guy took the team on a massive win streak after Joel went down.

Meh. He's been needing time off anyway, and they only have 7 games that mean anything the rest of the way here. Next one is the 28th vs. OKC. If he's not back for that, then you can start to worry.

All precautionary for rest. Next three games are Heat, Blazers and Pels. He'll get some time off and be ready to go for OKC and Warriors next week

It doesn't pay to get too worked up about this latest ding but you also can't just dismiss it. Its definitely concerning. He is not going to get younger over the years he is going to get older. Its also hard to believe they will ever win a title if he isnt able to play in roughly 65-70 games most years. If he can't they probably won't be able to win enough games to secure the necessary home-field advantage and he probably wouldn't be in optimum shape come the play-offs because not only is he not playing in a lot of games he isn't practicing. They played him too much earlier in the season I believe and they didn't cut it back fast enough and now they are getting the effects of that. Imo JoJo should almost never play more then 32 minutes in a game and really they should shoot for about 30 minutes a game on average.

That sounds reasonable. Embiid is the greatest player in the Sixers history (yes, I'd easily take him over Wilt in this era), your FO has to take every precaution available.

Did u see Atlanta hawks game sixers lost? Simmons needs a lot of help to win games. The final 10 games were almost all tanking teams besides Cleveland and they almost blew that game.

Edit: see Portland game as well.

We need another direction, Embiid won't last long and with more injuries will start to decline soon. He is also not a good fit with Ben, and I don't think we are good enough if he is our 1st option, he relies too much on drawing fouls, this doesn't work as much in playoffs and especially against strong and smart defenders like Horford.
In most teams, he would still command having a team built around him, but we are different, we have another hall of fame caliber player in Simmons, we can build around him, we also have Tobias and even Jimmy if needed, I say trade him for a huge package of players or for a star that fit Simmons better while his value is still at his peak. Nobody will agree, but I honestly think we would be an improved team and increase our chances at a championship.

U aren’t gonna to get even remotely long term value for embiid. U get one year rentals in Leonard or Davis would aren’t guaranteed to come band. U get kuzma/ball/ingram for embiid.

I actually proposed that trade to lakers and lakers fans will take that trade any day. It may work. Embiid short term with Lebron plus another star in LA gives Lebron the best chance to win now.

Sixers win by subtraction. Assuming Simmons improved more. Embiid peak is gonna to be short. That I will agree. His body is just too big to be playing this many minutes or games. 30-32 minutes. Playing 65 games a season is optima to stretch his career.

They brought embiid back against the Heat much earlier than they wanted to.
