I wouldn’t bet against him. I see a smooth transition with him taking more of the scoring load as Harden ages.
…but we should’ve traded him and some firsts for Lowry, so we could have Lowry at $30 million for the next three years. Lol
I’m shocked he can shoot so well already. I did not see that coming. His defense has been active as well. He works hard, but he is limited against guarding certain players.
Lillard has been a punishing offensive player month-after-month as the focal point of defenses for a long time. I don’t bet against Maxey, since he already has a pretty impressive arsenal, but I guess that could be a ceiling.
I think Bradley Beal, Donovan Mitchell, and Trae Young are similar as guys who averaged 25+ for multiple seasons. However, if Maxey were given the reins of a middling team, I think he might have the firepower to put up those scoring numbers; however, I believe Mitchell, Trae, and Lillard at least led teams to the second round putting up those types of numbers.
Maxey is improving fast and has an impressive skillset. He just needs to ultimately be able to score in the volume of these other elite scorers. CJ McCollum is a great offensive player but never put up the volume of these other guys, and that could be Maxey as well.
