Back to daydreaming about Embiid...

If he is 7'2" or taller, I think he favorably compares to the young Sabonis in many ways. Sabonis was still an amazing player after his injuries, but he was truly incredible in his early years. The ferocity of his dunks is similar to the ferocity of Embiid's dunks in his pre-draft workout video.

Having trouble embedding... Sorry about that

I don't know if that was directed at me, but in any event, speculation is not the same thing as a report. A report implies carefully vetted and corroborated sources. Anyone can speculate anytime about anything.

Probably directed to me because I used the term "report" when reposting the post that got everyone riled up (Johnson on the radio). I should have used "speculation" or another term. Water under the bridge. I'm optimistic of good news coming.

I am new here. But I have been a Sixers fan since, well forever. And when it comes to not only this whole Embiid situation, but really anything...I LOVE my Sixer Brothers. You all remind me of " Mel Brooks " in that movie, " History of the World "...where he is saying to his group..." Don't Panic....Don't Panic ".......PANIC!!!! ( LOL )

Oh, I gotcha. In fairness, the word "report" had been tossed around for a while before your post.

Either way, it didn't warrant the "moron" (mis)characterization that you (or someone) got.

My sense is that the bone is probably 90% healed...based on the news that everything was on schedule as recently as a few months ago. I see no reason to have another surgery...let him play.

Hey guys just registered with the board to talk on this subject, so Jon Johnson is one of the least reliable people ever. As many have stated above, that doesnt mean Embiid is fine or that hes in trouble. But this guy is like a casual fan that has a radio show. He once said that the Eagles up tempo offense wont work because if you look at the Patriots they dont play up tempo (for those that are sixers fans and Eagles fans you will understand why that is hilarious)

No way. If it's 90% healed you don't just throw your hands up and say ok just play. We didn't come this far only to just skip a step just to see Embiid play this year. It's about having Embiid play 15+ years at a high level and stay healthy. If it stopped healing then you do another surgery to see if it can get to 100% healed.

So people are talking about bone grafts, I sort of understand how that works but not really. Also does it effect athleticism and is it basically a new bone implanted while taking out the old one? (i have no idea what im talking about)

If he was working out very hard prior to the bone being fully healed; why can't he play 20 minutes per night?
Sounds like the bone can heal even if the person is active.

Do you have any patience at all? Gonna risk the guy's career to win a few extra games lol... stop.

Either that or you get off on being a contrarian.

I have no patience whatsoever :)

Having another surgery is no guarantee either.

And if Hinkie would continue to improve the team, maybe I would be more patient with Embiid.

lol Embiid already sat out an entire season last year and we still don't know what the hell is going on. .....and we watched Noel sit out an entire season before that, and Bynum missed the entire season before that.

i think it's a little silly to be criticizing fans for not being "patient"

EXACTLY!

But when a fan base gets used to losing; who cares about wasting another year?

When the alternative could be possibly never seeing the guy play ever, I don't think so. Plus we have Okafor anyway.

Fans have developed quite the self-entitlement in this town. Fans aren't entitled to ****, I'm sorry. Either sit your ass down and wait, or go root for an other team. I hate to be so blunt, but that's the way it is. Hell, even the Warriors took over 5 years to build their title team. It takes time.

Can't rush a dude back from a serious foot injury if it isn't healed correctly. "If" it isn't... we don't know(obviously).

Fans in this town seem to blame whatever coach or GM it is for the clubs history. Its not Chip Kelly's fault the Eagles havent won anything since 1960, its not Hinkie's fault they havent won since 83. So on and so forth. This is a new sports world where every team can sign FA's and have big stars. If you want a dynasty, be patient. if not then maybe we'll get lucky but it probably wont work.
