Can't agree there. Celtics fans are the worst in the NBA, and along with NY Giants fans the worst in pro sports.
In terms of this board, it's not even close. Raptors are the worst fan experience by a mile. Celtics fans are just mildly annoying.
IRL Celtics fans are probably worse because I think people from Toronto are too cowardice to talk **** to another person's face.
I'm talking about in person more than online. I lived for awhile in an area with a lot of Celtics fans, and they are the most obnoxious, racist (not a term I use loosely), and delusional group of fans I've ever been around. NY Giants fans are on the same level, but are on their own level in the delusional category.

He's a superstar. You don't trade them unless they ask out. I personally don't see Embiid as the problem. The main problem I see is that we don't have a closer on this team that can take over a game. Harden was supposed to provide that, Maxey is a scorer, but not in that sense. We have issues to fix and some hard decisions to make this summer. I don't know if trading Embiid is the right call, but it could happen I guess.
I mean, at the very least, Doc Rivers needs to go. This team needs someone who can get creative with the offense. Embiid gets the ball is some seriously bad spots and there is just too much standing around.
Maxey is the only guy that could get you a "closer". At this point, it might make sense to just tear the whole thing down.
Nah. Embiid just isnt good. He’s getting the ball at the block and at the elbow. He’s just not making those shots he made against them in the reg season.

I imagine Morey will continue upon his established MO and chase stars. Beal, Lillard, LaVine… whoever else may come available.
But the Sixers only have Maxey, Harris, and a 1st to offer.

Really sad and pathetic how the trolls from around the league arrive whenever it's convenient.

Embiid may be the most hated player in the history, hilarious stuff TBH.

I'm ready to start him next to Maxey next year. Gives us some defense and toughness we desperately need. Not like we're winning anything anyway.
He 100% should get a shot. He is actually a consistent threat from midrange which would be welcomed after we lived and died by the three all season.
The problem is having Maxey and Springer occupying the 1 and 2, we don't have a natural ballhandler/distributor on the team.
Who cares? With a "natural ballhandler" who gives us 9 pts 6 reb and 7 ast in games that count, I'm perfectly fine without one.

To all the Sixers fans you guys are the best. Classy fans who made me and harden goat and other harden fans feel welcome on this board. I think we all see the writing on the wall that this was hardens last game in Philadelphia but I have now become a Sixers fan and will cheer on Maxey and the Sixers S my second team.
I’m sorry that James went out like this and didn’t give you guys a better result. Whatever happens you guys are the best.

15pt in a do-or-die playoff game is pretty disappointing for an MVP IMO. It was an away game in BOS no less, but still.

If he trades Maxey after the series we just saw, I'm turning off the sixers for a long long time.

Should be the very first move of the off season. If he is retained, it's the organization essentially saying "we really aren't serious about competing".
Ok, You're right. I mentioned the other day in our conversation that I was going to withhold all hot takes until after game 7. Fact is, it's not a hot take. Doc seriously let me down. I gave him a pass after the Atlanta series, as my blame went to Simmons mostly (still does). Last year he got a pass because Embiid was hurt and Harden was still new. This year, there is no excuse. For all the positive things Doc does, pushing his players, holding them accountable, he really does fail epically in the postseason. I don't want him back at this point. It's a fail and I can openly admit that.
Are "hold them accountable" other words for "throw them under the bus"? If so,then yes, he holds them accountable. Pushing his players? Does that mean playing them stupid minutes in the regular season? If so, then I agree.

Re: R2G7 - 76ers vs Celtics - May 14 330PM TNT
here is my post modem on the season.
i told you about the stairs bro.
This team was flawed as **** from jump. Old, slow, unathletic, and full of fake good shooters.
But then they went on a nice little run; they showed some fight; won games that past teams wouldn't, first sweep in forever....maybe I was wrong.
WELP
I was. PJ was good for us in the playoffs. Melton was good all year until the playoffs but still. House had a game.....hell even Doc didn't fall to his worst tendencies. So on that front...I was wrong.
our best two players are hoes ....so who gives a ****.
I love Joel Hans Embiid...but he played like a bitch all post season IMO. Great on defense...tentative and scared on offense. He no longer has the poor spacing excuse either. He got his MVP award and needed to step up and prove it...and did not. Thats **** sad. As of right now, recency bias acknowledged, he cannot be the best player on a championship team...or at the very least not the main scoring option. Too sloppy, too reliant on FTs, too reliant on mid rangers. I am glad he got his award because now he can focus on the other things and just being more efficient in general. He needs to slim down and become a better shooter...specifically from 3. He was Westbrookian from there this post season IMO. But that if he's even here next season....that sad sack performance (I assume as I didn't watch lol) probably would make any trade request look bad but still the FO might want to kick the tires a bit if nothing else.
As I stated, I had a real mental breakdown last game...and i think I know why....I DESPERATELY wanted the narrative on Biid to not be true. He is then crown jewel of the process I defended like my life depended on it. His success means more to me than anything...but here we are and he went out sad as **** (again I assume lol)...can't defend that. And now if he is still here...nothing he does from this point forward matters until he does big thangz in the playoffs. He could average 40 next year and it won't matter...
As for Harden...meh. I never was a fan of his game pre trade...wanted Haliburton...yaddi yaddi yadda. His game is based off him taking a lot of possessions and with Biid that didn't work as well. KD and Kyrie are elite off ball. Biid is too ball dominant. As for bringing him back? Who cares. I wouldn't but I get why you would...may not have a choice as he probably should opt in lol.
Doc wasn't the problem but canning him is the only move probably available. Ideally for someone w/ some ideas beyond "play w/ pace" But this was probably one of his better series as our coach IMO.
Don't have much for anyone else really. Maxey is a great kid who improved as the series went on...thats worth seeing if he can continue to improve.
I am still very bummed out...but only because this feels like the big guy let us down rather than the outcome...I expected the outcome....just not for him to have such a bad game (I assume lol).
Will be an interesting offseason but honestly who gives a ****....nothing matters until next post season regardless of what they do or don't do.
Glad its over tho

All I'm saying is that yes...It's time for him to go. This was inexcusable in my opinion. I don't really watch Doc pressers or post game Doc interviews so I can't comment on if he's throwing shade at our guys. As far as riding guys in the regular season...It was all about playoff positioning for him. Obviously in hindsight we were much better off as a 4/5 seed. Probably should have slowed it down towards the end of the year and let Cleveland have the 3 seed, but we'd still be having to go through Boston. We hired Doc to get us past these teams, it hasn't happened, it's time for him to go.

Re: R2G7 - 76ers vs Celtics - May 14 330PM TNT
Tough one, but we contend again next year.
Embiid wasn't good today, but he's still the MVP. Even if he wasn't he's one of the top 5 players in the league and the level of player you need to contend.
Harden wasn't good today, but he still led the league in assists per game and is capable of dropping 40 some games. I expect him to be back.
Even Maxey wasn't good tooday. 5-12 for 17pts isn't enough. But I believe we have a future all-star here.
Tobias missed a lot of 3s but overall had a good game today. I don't understand the hate he gets. He isn't worth his contract, but that is a sunk cost. And it doesn't even hurt us that much because we're over the cap regardless, and he's one of the better 4th options in the league. Maybe he gets traded since he's finally an expiring contract. I don't have a problem with him as a player, but it would be great to somehow upgrade.
Tucker and the bench could be better, but a lot of the faults here are on Doc. The lack of development from the young guys is partly because he doesn't play them enough. There are plenty of pieces there to work with. Niang, House, Reed, McDaniels, Melton, Tucker, Dedmon, Milton, Korkmaz, Springer, Trez. Finding the best matchups for each game is what Doc's paid for.
At this point, I no longer expect a championship from this group. I figured we had a 3-year window and I thought we'd break through at least once. Two years are gone, and we weren't close. We'll contend again, but with only one real shot left, the odds are no longer in our favor. Hopefully next year we get to try with someone other than Doc at the helm.

The narrative will not change with this team until it gets an elite shot maker in the halfcourt that can win off the dribble and consistently draw fouls in games like these. Call me crazy, but if there was any way we could let James Harden walk and end up with Kyrie Irving I'd do it in an instant. Time and time again playoff games are won with players who can create on the perimeter. Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler, Lebron James, Curry, Brunson, Jamal Murray....We got a taste of it with Harden at times, but he's nowhere near as scary or consistent as those guys are.
