I'd do that in a second. You know what Beasley is? A trade chip. Maybe not by himself, but in a package with Williams or Young. You can never have enough trade chips.

beasley is still young you never know what a change of scenery can do. It will be interesting to see what rumors start coming up after all of this free agency hoopla blows over.

Super Speights ftw.

Re: Rumors: Heat wants Kapono in exchange for Michael Beasley.
Miami Heat fans will defend Beasley to death saying how much of a bad rap he has gotten. They say he played big in a lot of games despite the head coach despising him and not running any plays for him. That's not saying Beasley didn't give Wade and Spoelstra a reason to despise him. Maybe Collins can help a player like Beasley grow as a man and then as a player. If not, like I said, you can never have enough trade chips.

Re: Rumors: Heat wants Kapono in exchange for Michael Beasley.
so what position would Beasley spend most of his time at? has he been more of a 3 or 4 in the NBA?
regardless I'd do it - We have the opportunity to give a young, talented guy a second chance to redeem himself in exchange for a guy who isnt going to play
Best case scenario he's a valuable asset to our team and may become a part of our future
Worst case scenario he continues to be a nutcase and a distraction and we dont pick up his option and he becomes an expiring contract which would be a nice trade asset, which is exactly what was going to happen with Kapono anyway

Do it Now! Beasley isn't a long term solution but a nice piece to rent for awhile. I see Beasley as a journeymen he'll play for 6+ teams in a 10+ year NBA career.

I'd do that. He's still young and a former #2 pick. Maybe he could become something here. Maybe not, but Kapono is worthless.

The rumors will be flying once the ego-King makes his announcement. Hopefully Sixerfan will be on with some news tonight.

I'd do it. No matter how much of a cancer Beasley is, he has more trade value than Kapono (even if he is an expiring). But I wouldn't want to keep him though.

How can Stefanski say no to this?

Because he's no longer calling the shots?
But hopefully Collins is, and makes this deal.

Re: Rumors: Heat wants Kapono in exchange for Michael Beasley.
It really does seem a simple yes from our end.
Would people still say yes if we have to send some sort of pick attached, i.e a second rounder, or a top 15 protected 1st (that turns into 2 2nd rounders in 3 years if we are still in bottom 15)?
I think the raw talent of Beasely makes him a nice fit for us. If he works out, you ended up with a top 5 talent on the super cheap. If not, you didn't pay a lot to take a good swing at locking down another future starter.

Re: Rumors: Heat wants Kapono in exchange for Michael Beasley.
That would be just impossible for Collins to give everyone their minutes!! I mean, Young, Nocioni, Beasly of the bench at 3 and 4 spot?? Behind Brand and Speights.. If that goes down, Thad is a s good as gone..

A second round pick Still yes to the trade
A first rounder of any kind is a deal breaker.

Re: Rumors: Heat wants Kapono in exchange for Michael Beasley.
I don't understand how that helps the Heat salary wise because aren't they trying to dump Beasley to a team with cap-room for NOTHING in return?
Kapono makes $1.7m MORE than Beasley, while the trade could happen since the Heat are the under cap, it would make Lebron/Wade/Bosh have to take even smaller salaries to off-set the difference.

Wow... that would be a pretty damn great trade for us. I see the value of Kapono next to those guys since he'd constantly be wide open... but this can't be true, right?
