Fantasy Trade Thread

Chris Kaman just returned from his injury. While I'm not particularly enamored with him (or his contract), potentially he could be a good fit on this team in the right deal. If he were to waive his trade kicker, something like this could be interesting:

Andres Nocioni, Mareese Speights, Jason Kapono, 1st round pick (lotto-protected)
for
Chris Kaman and Rasual Butler

The Clippers move on from Kaman with Jordan as their new starting 5. Speights provides a young, cheap, offensive option behind him, while Nocioni improves their SF-corps. The Sixers 1st is a decent asset for their build going forward.

We get a pretty big upgrade at the center position without losing anybody that is currently contributing much to the team. Butler can replace Nocioni's role as a shooting forward off the bench. For next year, we'd actually only be adding about 2M or so salary with Kaman waiving his kicker (He makes 12.7, while Nocioni/Speights make 9.4 + the cost of our 1st).

The old thread got to 60+ pages. Time for a new thread.

Not real excited about the prospect of Kaman, never thought Kaman/Brand was anything to write home about. The value is probably fine, but I just really don't want Kaman's contract, and I especially hate the idea of giving up a 1st for him.

yeah... sorry, really just don't want him.

how bout this deal

Sixers get: Vladimir Radmanovic (expiring) D Wright, and Udoh

Warriors get: Iggy

GS gets a guy they want and don't have to give up Biendrins, Curry, or Ellis
Not sure if GS would even do this
Sixers get shooting in Wright, and a young defensive big
also not sure if Thorn would even do this
but i love the following lineup for 2012, not to mention we'd be more flexible cap wise

Holiday
Turner
Wright
Brand
Udoh

I'd do expiring deals + a second for Kaman, but not much more. He has trouble staying healthy and doesn't even try to get his teammates involved.

Yeah, I think offering up Kapono and Songaila for Kaman is about where I would go. Not much more.

If the Clips want pure salary relief for Kaman, then I would accomodate him. Offering up picks or anyone useful is probably too much for him from the Sixers' standpoint.

I'm sure that this trade has been brought up before but would you like a Speights-R.Lopex swap?

Speights isn't getting consistent minutes for whatever reason, but is at his best running the pick and roll and could be successful with Nash. Would also fit that Phoenix all offense no defense type of play.

Lopez could be a defensive presence at Center and would be an upgrade over Spencer Hawes.

Isn't Lopez playing like crap this year? I thought he's getting abused by pretty much everyone on D this year. Not sure how he's even an upgrade on Hawes?

The trade that makes the most sense to me is the Kaman trade. I think he's got two years left on his contract. We can make a push for him without giving up anything really valuable and at the same time it would allow us to let Hawes go after this season and resign Thad Young, and pony up an offer to Meeks.

Another thing I'd like to see us try to get in on...

It looks like if Denver gets Gallinari, they'll try to ship him out to get firsts. I'd love to see us send Speights, Brackins, ECs, and 2 firsts to Denver for Nene and Gallinari.

That type of move would make us pretty dangerous in the East for the rest of the year.

Jrue / Lou / Turner
Iguodala / Meeks / Turner
Gallo / Iguodala / Turner
Brand / Young
Nene / Hawes / Battie

Denver could probably do better in a Nene deal though, but just spitballing a bit...

I'd be fine with that as well...probably would even give up a little more if needed, but if they somehow can get Nene and Gallinari, I think you'd have to be interested.

We'd have to move Lou somehow too, that's just too many guards/swing men.

Didn't he spend some time out because of an injury? Same thing happened with Speights last season. Sure Eddie Jordan was horrible, but Speights didn't look the same either.

Like Speights, Lopez showed a lot of potential his rookie year

The thing is, our first-rounders become pretty unattractive if we make that trade. With that roster we should be far better than we are right now. Hell, I might even go as far to say that that team has a shot at making it to the ECF (can't believe I just said that). I don't think our firsts get it done.

True, which is why maybe Foshan's idea of getting Lou involved could help. Maybe Lou going to Memphis with Mayo going to Denver, or Lou somewhere for an expiring + first to Denver, etc.

It's certainly worth Thorn making a few calls, because Nene makes us a scary team in the playoffs if we can keep from giving up too much.

Heck with a trade like this, Meeks is certainly expendable, so you could see him going to Chicago for Asik or some incentive, again throwing those over to Denver.

Good point. Lou is definitely expendable if we pick up Gallo. That's an exciting team.

send Lou Will to Sac for JThompson, to Den.

DEN: Nene, Gallinari, A.Carter (our vet pg)
Den: Speights, JT, Brackins, 2 phi 1sts, Kapono + TPE from Sac

Phi: LWill, Speights, Brackins, '11, '13, Kapono
Phi: Gallo, Nene, Carter

Only thing is i don't do that deal unless we have some assurance of nene staying.

I don't know that that package gets you Nene alone.

I personally have no interest in "Nene" coming here.
The player I would like to see us get is Troy Murphy or Marcus Camby.
Camby and Andre Miller seem to be available. Portland wants to get younger and we could offer them a deal based around expiring picks and Craig Brackins to acquire Camby.
I'm sure many teams are going to be bidding for Camby now that we know who the contenders are in the league so I doubt we get him. Whoever does get him will be getting a double digit rebounder and shotblocker on a nightly basis. Nevermind his age because he is still getting it done in the NBA, and he could help us come playoff time.

I'm curious to see if Andre Miller will actually get traded as well. Portlands brass is run by a bunch of cheapskates so I wonder what their asking price will be? Not as if we need him but he could help a team like the LA Lakers or Atlanta make a run.

id offer something for Murphy or Camby.

Speights,Nocioni and Songalia for Murphy?

He does 3 things we lack...shoots/scores, rebounds and has size. He's also a huge expiring.
