I would want a real shotblocker/defensive type at PF with Pek (and no, I do not mean overpaying Josh Smith), a more athletic guy who can defend the weakside.

Brandan mutherf******* Wright

He played less than 20 minutes per night in the last two years but check out these numbers:

- 21+ PER each year
- 5+ block percentage each year
- 102.5 defensive rating over the past two years

This dude is just waiting to break out.

With Pek and Wright, we would have trouble on the defensive glass, but we would have a real nice offensive / defensive complimentary frontcourt.

I think we could kind of matchup committee the 4 spot with a 5 like Pek.

Hes one of the few low post presences in the league, id kinda be ok with adding him.

i think a mix of Thad(mismatch scoring 4),a guy like B.Wright (athletic big who can protect the rim) and/or a guy like Dejuan Blair (hardnosed rebounding big) would help compliment him.

One thing we would DEF have to add tho, is perimeter shooting. Pek would likely become a focal point on offense, and we would need more than 1 option to make defenses pay for doubling him in the post.

Well being as that JRich is likely never playing again and nobody gave Bynum new knees, I'm assuming our new GM is starting to think outside the box. This is so premature to speculate being that we havent had a draft or started free agency, but.....

Kobblehead wrote:Pek is definitely gonna want $12 mill a year. Ibaka and Kris Humpries (lol Nets) just got that last offseason.

I would offer him 3 years, $39 mill. Each year, escalating a mill per (Asik will make $14 mill in his final year).

after thinking about it, when you look at most of the good uptempo, young teams in the league (Nuggets,Houston mainly could consider the Clippers one too imo) they lack an inside presence that gets exposed during the playoffs.

Pek is a legitimate guy you can throw the ball too in the post and he can work and get a basket. Building an athletic young team around him could give us a pretty interesting look.

we would still need a scorer alongside Jrue, but Pek would certainly make things interesting.

I agree that Pekovic is the best target for this offseason. He's honestly the only attainable guy that won't command max money and would instantly improve our offensive problems down low. Bynum and Marshmallow Hawes need to go this offseason, and I'm willing to bet a team would foolishly give some nice assets for them. If Hinkie does this, we could roll out

Jrue
Turner
Scrub Free Agent (Martell Webster maybe)
Thad
Pek

We'd suck next year, but at least it'd be a true rebuild around young talent. Plus, Hinkie would have several picks to work with in next year's loaded draft. This is more preferable to me than wasting money and assets on guys like Josh Smith and Tyreke Evans. That would only make us the Atlanta Hawks 2.0

Could see us making a run at Francisco Garcia. Proved to be a good defender and shot maker in the playoffs. Big guard, can shoot, and doesn't need the ball in his hands. A good fit if we are keeping Turner.

that team would be mediorcracy and finish 8th in the east. The east sucks guys, get over it, our **** hole team from this past season finished 9th and a team with pek will finish atleast 7th

Only thing that turned me slightly off of Pek is he's going got demand cash even if it may not be max and he's 27 going on 28.

I don't believe the starting lineup will consist solely of players currently on the roster, so this is kinda fantasy. Safe to say, Iverson will not be included....

With with only a little over four thousand NBA minutes played, he doesn't have the typical mileage that a 27 year old player would have. If we have to go 4 years on him, I'm fine because I fully expect him to play at a high level into his mid-30's.

Pek is literally the only guy I want on a multi-year deal. If we can't get him, I'm perfectly content with filling out our roster with 1 year rentals and semi-tanking for Wiggins.

I'm all for trading Turner, Hawes, or Thad for young talent. Once we find that franchise player (Jrue being the sidekick) that turns this team to a contender. Established veterans will immediately sign here cheap. Veterans that muscle the middle off the bench or hit timely shots.

the problem is the team just isnt bad enough to get a top 5 range pick. Standing pat with ET,Jrue, Thad and Hawes might even get you a playoff birth. I have no idea what this guy is going to do,

I wonder if MIN would want Hawes in a deal to S&T Pek? I mean we would have the money to pay Pek market price, but this would give MIN a fill-in-C, and it would save us a little bit of cap room to still do something else?

would be perfect, minnesota gets a expiring deal and solid player, and we get a beast center and have a little extra cap to go after a OJ Mayo. Im just going to wait and see though, this Hinkie guy is going to shock us.
