That's a terrific hire imo, especially as a scout.

Sad to see Dileo working for another team, especially for some one in the same division. He did well in many facets of the Sixers organization. I understand Hinkie is going a different direction, but I wish he had found a place to keep Dileo. Hopefully he won't make Washington too good.

Same Conference, different Divisions, we're Atlantic, Washington is Southeast.

I agree. The guy was a pro who got dealt a very tough hand with the Bynum deal. Of course, we can't forget he probably had some role in making the Bynum deal.
Washington seems to be a team on the rise. Wish him luck.

I always though DiLeo was fine as just a scout, anything more than that and he was over his head.

Nope, not missing a thing, screw DiLeo & good riddance. Dude was incompetent in every capacity. Hopefully now we won't draft the Evan Turner/Darko of this years draft.

From GM to scout. Ouch...
It's like a mod chopped off 10,000 posts from his post-count in one fell swoop.

Turner was the consensus #2, and the Sixers have done extremely well with their other draft picks under him (Thad, Holiday, Vuc, etc).
Heck, DiLeo was even one of the Sixers better coaches over the past several years. Of all the people in the past administration to dislike, he seems the one least deserving of comments like that.

How can anyone dislike DiLeo? He has been a trooper for the franchise since the early '90s and has been a terrific scout. Just because the fools above him had no idea of what they were doing shouldn't mean you should take out your anger on Tony D.

So because of one draft pick that wasn't even his call...well there you have it.

I'm sorry, your right. He's awesome. he's done so much for this franchise. Yeah he drafted decent players, but we also have ALOT of misses in the draft.

Do you want me to name his misses and I'll let you choose between the players he picked and missed.

Matter fact I will look up his misses. He was mediocre and part of this mediocre decade of sixers basketball. Good Riddance. either way you slice it. If he was worthy he'd still be here.

Anyone who thinks the draft isn't filled with both hits and misses is ignorant. Past decade the Sixers' track record has been above average, although I am happy to watch people explain how much better they could do.
But more importantly,I think it is clear we need to have at least some fans from Philly act classless. Fortunately, that threshold is being met here.

Yeah, there is really no need to say stuff like good riddance about Dileo because he is a guy that did everything that was asked of him but was hand strung by Doug Collins over the last couple years and was simply a casualty of the new regime. He led the team to the playoffs, and if the team would have listend to him, Nowitzki would have been a Sixer

He lasted under Croce, Brown/King, Stefanski, Collins (we all know who pulled the strings). It's not easy to bring in so many good ones, while being so limited by power players like Brown and Collins. They still brought in guys like AI, Iggy, Holiday, Korver, Green, even guys like Dalembert or Speights without top 3 picks. These players all lasted many years in the league as starters on multiple teams. We all know the draft is a crap-shoot, and without the top 3 picks, to have done as well as Dileo did in his overall tenure, he did a good job. I know he doesn't get all the credit for all the good picks I'm sure, but he was part of the process for all of them.

Simply put, DiLeo has been with the Sixers since 1990 as an underling with no power. Anyone that thinks DiLeo is the reason why this franchise has been what it is, seek help.
