Sixers fans big board: Pick #9 (POLL)

#1 was Wiggins
#2 was Embiid
#3 was Parker.
#4 was Exum
#5 was Randle
#6 was Vonleh
#7 was Smart
#8 was Gordon

On to #9

Again, this is the player you most wish the Sixers would pick of the remaining players, not who you think will go 9th in some mock draft.

Poll choices being filled out by Dx mock draft, but if you want another choice upcoming just make some noise about it.

I've talked myself into Gary Harris. 2 guard is a gaping hole for this team. Harris is a strong defensive player and was obviously well coached in college. His offensive season this year was a disappointment. His freshman year was very impressive though and the ability is clearly there.

We are now to the point where the talent levels out a bit and who we get with the first pick will influence who we take here.

I haven't voted yet because you can see the polls on iPhones, but I will be voting for James Young.

I think that he has allstar potential and is one of these guys that really doesn't have any glaring weaknesses. He can shoot, score and defend and that means that he could be a starter if he pans out.

I chose Young, but could throw a blanket over him, Harris and Stauskas here, at least before workouts take place. I really liked Harell and might have plugged him in here if he had declared.

James Young is awful defensively. That is his glaring weakness.

James Young really is Nick Young part 2. He even bangs a ratchet chick like Swaggy P (NY=Iggy Azalea, JY=Rhianna).

Harris is the safest choice but I voted Anderson here. Noel will protect the rim and Anderson's defensive shortcomings. Anderson can make the whole offense run better.

Yes he is absolutely terrible.

Although I agree he was strong defensively and well-coached in that area at Michigan State, do you think his average athleticism will hinder his ability to defend guards at the next level? Wesley Matthews is another solid college defender that gets lit up on certain nights (other nights he's passable) because he isn't athletic enough to stick most guys consistently.

This really is a tough one because it's the question of drafting on fit (including who we go with at #1), upside, value, etc. I really like watching Kyle Anderson play basketball, but I almost don't want the headache of watching him on the Sixers if he isn't a right fit. I think Tyler Ennis is going to be a good starting PG in the league, but I like MCW more. Adrien Payne is an option here too, if we go with Wiggins. Capela got major potential. Ugh.

Anyway, the Sixers need a 2-3 shooter, and there's a plethora here, and they all bring different things to the table...

Stauskas - probably the best shooter in the draft, and has handle to go along with it. Terrible terrible terrible defense.

Harris - Good shooter, but struggled this season. Solid on D. I think there's a decent chance he's a starting SG on a championship contending team one day, he'll just be like the 5th option. AKA his upside worries me.

Young - POTENSHUL

Rodney Hood - He's a really underrated shooter - 2 per game at a 42% clip. He's not great defensively either, but I'm hoping he'll buy into playing a little bit more defense.

But then again, you can get a guy like PJ, Dinwiddie, or Wilcox later in the draft.

If I were Hinkie, I'd really like to move down. But if I stay here, I'm going with a shooter, so I'll take (subject to change 3958590 times) Rodney Hood.

He's probably not going to make an all defense or anything but he should be a good defender.

It's the #9 spot in an 8 player draft. They all have flaws.

This only makes taking him easier.

Shows good judgement/taste IMO

I was the lone JY vote previously, under the theory that he is super young, raw, athletic, and I don't know enough to pick otherwise.

Under the same theory I might start picking Capela soon. But it is a pretty uninformed vote I really don;t watch much of any of these guys.

Voted for Harris here. Like him better than Young or McDermont here. I believe Young is too high here but the potential is there. Same for dougie only his flaw is that he's a role player at best.

I didn't vote yet but I'm thinking about Anderson. They say he needs to be picked by the right team. Are the high pace Sixers the correct team for him?? Because I know Anderson doesn't have a fast twitch muscle fiber in his body.
