Draft night over. Okafor/Noel still here. What now?

At this point I'm not even sure what we could get for them. Maybe a sign and trade of Okafor for Bradley Beal? I doubt any of the teams in the top 10 will be willing to move their picks for Okafor or Noel now, if they didn't during the draft with the pressure on, I don't see their minds changing.
We might be going into the season with both still on the roster, folks, and honestly, I'm cool with it. No deal with a logjam is better than a bad deal.
Most people here thought Okafor or Noel would be traded on draft night, and neither were. I want to know if anyone's opinion has changed now that neither has been traded or do you think it'll happen. Again, this isn't what you want to happen, it's what you think will happen.

I still think one of Noel/Okafor gets moved this Summer. We have heard both BC and Brown talk about "Roster Balance" a lot lately...Having Embiid/Noel/Okafor/Simmons doesn't scream balance.
Scary thought is....if we truly were trying to move Noel or Okafor/24/26/Covington and couldn't get a pick in the top 8....the value around the league may be MUCH lower than what many on this board feel it is (which is often the case)
Going to be a very, very interesting Summer for the Sixers. Buckle up fellas!

I'm still a bit surprised Boston turned down Noel, 24, 26, & Cov for Jaylen Brown. Considering who was taken with those two picks, that would have been an incredibly poor deal for the Sixers. The same offer was probably made to Phoenix and Minny. I guess the rest of the league values Noel a lot lower than this board.

Turns out that rumor was BS per Colangelo. It sounded like way too much, I think that was nonsense.

Even tho one of theme didn't get traded which kinda surprised me with all the talk that has been going around for the past month but im also happy we didnt traded them the last thing we need is to make a dumb trade just for the sake of making a trade because of Drafting Simmons. But make no mistake one of theme wont be on the team come the season opener.

BC seemed to emphasize "retain current and future assets". Makes me think Boston wanted a future pick (Laker/Ours/Kings) and BC balked. Good for him....those are big time pieces to have around.

Hopefully BC is smart, and goes about his offseason as if he is going to keep both. However free agency is in the near future. There are going to be plenty of teams that strike out on the top available big men. Thats when other teams get desperate and offer up a good package for one or the other.
I honestly think the best thing that could have helped BC get his full value for either is keeping both through tonight. Keeping both through the draft shows BC isnt desperate to trade one of them. Tonight was his biggest chance in the offseason to unload one of them, and he didnt do it. He didnt panic.
Now when the other teams lose out in Free Agency, a nice young big man will look more enticing when there are no other ways of improving their teams. Thats when Sam Hinkie would have pounced. Lets hope Colangelo is ready too.

Oh really? Well that's a relief. He needs to trade one of the bigs because there aren't enough minutes to go around, but getting the right value back is more important. Just start next season with Noel/Embiid at center and Okafor/Saric at PF, with Simmons at SF. It's not ideal, but it's preferable to getting trade raped.

A lot of teams think they are going to score big in free agency, but most won't. Once the dust settles and teams take stock of what they have and don't have, the trade market will heat up. Good night, no bad trades made and three great picks. Way better than I expected.

What scares me is maybe the teams don't want these remnants of Hinkie to provide us some useful assets in return because of all the politics behind the scenes.

Well Duncan and Bogut averaged 20-21 mpg. OkC played with three bigs last season. Nevertheless, it'll be much easier if Simmons and Saric play some 3 for the mean time.

I could see trades for guys like Bledsoe, Knight, or Rubio being an option.
But whatever it is, it won't be well received. Perhaps neither guy is worth as much as we may have hoped. One has to go soonish...but I am more than willing to see how things mesh before doing so. Doesn't seem like the value can go anywhere but up at this point.

Oh man. I just want to revel in what has been a significant night for the team and the types of players they have managed to acquire.
Where is everyone getting the BC comments from, nothing on sixers.com as far as I could see

I don't think it's safe to assume that Saric is coming over this year anyway - which probably helps in terms of a frontcourt jam anyway.

First we have to identify teams that might need a big. Then see if they have desirable assets.
Miami: Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson
Boston: Marcus Smart, Jae Crowder, Avery Bradley
Charlotte: Kemba Walker
Chicago: Jimmy Butler
Washington: Otto Porter
Portland: C.J. McCollum
Los Angelos: D'Angelo Russell
It's a long shot to get any of these guys, unfortunately. Our best play might be to sit tight and hope that our increased team talent naturally pumps up the performances and value of our guys. Then we can re-visit the trade market at the deadline.

How about something around a Len/Knight for Noel swap?

I think Sixers fans would
maybe consider that if it was Okafor and not Noel.
I personally probably wouldn't do it because of Knight's injury history.

Well Suns might rather have Okafor but the problem is Noel and Len's rookie deals end at the same time. I like Noel's defensive stuff too, and Suns lack defense. Most Suns fans prefer Okafor though...I'm sure our fans would vote a yes on that. It is crazy though you guys are so willing to give up a guy with that kind of post offense. I mean few guys in the league have that and he is how old?

I don't think Sixers fans dislike Okafor's game, because he has incredible low post skills and moves. Stuff you can't teach. Just a great knack of scoring. He will be a 20/10 guy for a long time. Although, some fans are turned off by his defense.
I just think he's a bad fit with this team. Brett Brown likes to get out and run, and especially now with Simmons, they are going to use him a lot like the Cavs use Lebron. Put the ball in his hands, spread it out, let him attack and surround him with shooters. Okafor's slow low post style will prevent them from running and clog the lanes. Also, I think a lot of Sixers fans drool over the potential of seeing Simmons attack the paint, then throw it up to Noel back door for an alley oop. I think in our particular situation Okafor is the odd man out. In the right situation though he will be a 10 year all-star.
That's why I'm shocked no teams wanted him. If I'm in this draft and I'm Boston sitting there at 3, he's certainly a better player than Jaylen Brown.
