Jodie Meeks going to the magic for a second rounder would be a lost opportunity for us. He's exactly the kind of guy we should be looking at and can likely be moved at the deadline for similar value or more.

It would be a pretty decent get for 6.5. Plays good defense and can hit the three.

Thunder seem to really want Al Horford and need to shed salary.

Cameron Payne, Enes Kanter and Mich McGary (+ future pick) for Okafor.

I'd happily participate in that if they were dumping contracts and using Payne as the bait, but not sure I would want Kantner and they are more likely to want a salary free asset like Korkmuz and/or a future pick.

This isn't the news I wanted to read. I want Whiteside to go to the Lakers. I can't have the Lakers being a colossal failure again. I need them to sign some decent free agents so they won't be the worst team in the league. Their team as currently constructed is the worst team in the league. They need to make some moves. I want that pick next season.

this is good in terms of portland having hopes of getting him...

as far as whiteside or howard i'm looking for portland, boston, and teams without centers to whiff so the value of our guys goes up

You guys are in such a good position, it's mind boggling. With the current contracts flying around, you guys have super talented players locked into rookie contracts for years. I honestly hope that Dirk leaves and we can blow it up. We could find ourselves with a top pick next year, and three max spots. I looked up something a couple months ago. With the exception of the 2004 Pistons, every other champion from the last 40 years have won, because they had at least one franchise player they got through the draft, after a bad season. Many people argue that tanking doesn't work, it might not, but on the other hand, you cannot win in the NBA without being bad for a couple of seasons. You can call that tanking or whatever, but it's actually required to go through it. We got Dirk the same way. With a high lottery pick. That's darn near the only way to do it.
