Where is Jahlil Okafor?

This is really strange IMO. Knowing our franchise I have a strong feeling the 76ers are holding something back about his recovery. Its almost been 30 weeks since his surgery which supposedly had a 6-8 week recovery time.
I know it is preseason, but we saw over the off-season he didn't play in SL, he didn't play in the Olympics or even scrimmage with them. Something is wrong IMO. I absolutely LOVE the 76ers, but I am near my breaking point when it comes to how they handle injuries with the fans/media.
I mean you guys are telling me he isn't healthy enough to get maybe 10 minute spin in some of these games? If not something is terribly wrong.

Well we've seen reports that his wrist is worst than expected or something along those lines. We haven't heard anything from Okafor's camp except that he's 100% healthy. Well, if you are 100% healthy wouldn't you be playing in a freaking preseason game? You know, it might be important to see how you and Embiid play together?
I mean we can ignore this all we want, but we know our franchise's history with this crap. Until I'm proven otherwise I seriously think something is terribly wrong with his recovery.
There is a nice thread over on reddit about this but I do not want to link to another website from here.

When did they say that he was 100%? I thought that they just said that he was capable of playing if he needed to.
Brett Brown said that he still had some soreness, and I thought that it was mentioned that he tweaked the knee in September somewhere. I can't find that statement anywhere so maybe I'm remembering it incorrectly.

As the team reconvened for camp in late September Okafor was still being held out of any scrimmaging. "As part of the Sixers’ prescheduled load management for Okafor, he participated in a portion of practice and then worked out individually with head strength and conditioning coach Todd Wright." And again, he reiterated “I’m 100 percent healthy,” he said. “I’m all good.” That's 27 weeks after the surgery.

Hmm, ok. I stand corrected. So what is going on then? He either tweeted it, or something is still a problem.

If we're waiting a A to see him playing, it will be another long season.

Something is terribly wrong on the medical staff of this team after all those injuries we suffered these past years. It doesn't matter how carefuly you treated your injured players if you treated them in a wrong way.

When Okafor got hurt reports were his injury recovery just barely cleared the end of the season which was why he was out for the year. He has now had those weeks + an entire off-season to get back on the court and he hasn't even played a minute in preseason.
The Embiid - Saric - Noel - Simmons news has kind of swept this Okafor news under the rug. I'm surprised people haven't made this into a bigger deal. Hell, even the first reply in this thread made it seem like a joke.
Our only hope is that technically if the season was today he would play but they just want to limit his play to in-house scrimmaging. My hope is that his knee is fine he's just not in 100% game shape....However, as a fan of a team who has many injury controversies, my confidence is not high with that belief.
He better get on the court soon or I'm going to start to get POed.

I have said many times, through the years sixers medical team has been awful , they have no idea what they are doing.

Weren't there reports of Okafor looking like a beast in practice and he was showing a motor? This was supposedly during training camp. So is the injury keeping him out of practice and games now the same as the injury that he suffered at the end of last season or is a new injury that occurred in training camp? Or is it a relapse of the old injury? Confusing.

Without playing a Simmons style of ball, whatever and whenever that may be, the 76ers only hope of winning is IF Embiid and Okafor can play well together so they can score 90+ points. Otherwise they lose without tanking, they just lose because they can't shoot. Outrageously horrible preseason in terms of prepping a lineup for a season. Embiid , Saric and Holmes are sharpening their games as it should be in preseason, but the rest are a 10 win team.
Didn't anyone get the "stop tanking" memo? Okafor has to be the go to scorer at this point in time. Who else can it be?
The expected formula: 2 strong rookies, combined with 2 returning bigs, three new savvy vets, drop the D league talent, coach them strong, and viola a real team building a foundation for future years. Anybody see this now?

My guess is there is certain goal Brett Brown asks his players to achieve in the offseason before they can play a game. One of them is Jah's fitness but Bb needs more than that.

It's time to replace the medical staff IMO. They were great for tanking. They are not so good for trying to develop a team.
Good news in all of this is that Bryan will have a good excuse for firing Brett at the end of the year. I'm convinced he isn't helping anything, even though it's not his fault no one seems able to get him a PG.

This is ridiculous. The Sixers have one of the best medical staffs in the league.
Look what they did with Noel and Embiid. They are absolutely on the cutting edge with the sports science too.
Before we start calling for them to be fired shouldn't we point to a single mistake that they have made?
There is no evidence whatsoever that they are doing anything wrong with Okafor.

Seems like Noel is holding out for a trade.

I googled Hinkie changes Sixers medical staff. Didn't find anything. So unless I'm forgetting something, which I admit is possible... this is the same med staff that cleared the Bynum trade, yes?
Also, why do they constantly have multiple injured guys? I'm not necessarily saying they're doing anything wrong, rather, they're not doing enough right.
If Embiid has no relapses and makes it through the year, then you can point to that as proof they are good.

Agreed. Good news is, Mahinmi just got hurt from WSH.
