Yes, Hendo is sitting out this year with an injury.

The Sixers are 7th in defensive efficiency, but 22nd in points per game given up. Which number represents their defense better? .., or is it somewhere in the middle?

For instance the Grizzlies to me have had a pretty good defense for a while, they don’t ever seem to give up a lot of points, but their efficiency isn’t very good.

They are 8th in ppg given up, but 18th in efficiency.

You mean the 12-27 Grizz? They have a good defense? Without (mostly) Conley, Allen or Randolph?

From 2011-2017 they had an above average defense efficiency-wise 6 out of 7 years.'

Defensive efficiency isn't rocket science... it's just adjusted for how many possessions you play in a game.

Since they are only giving up the 8th amount of points, isn’t their record more indicative of their crap offense?

Their record is more indicative of their crap offense. They have the 26th most efficient offense. That doesn't make their defense good this year.

They were a good defensive team when they were winning 50 games every year, now they're a slightly below average defensive team with a horrible offense and they'll be one of the worst teams in the NBA until Conley comes back.

New member here saying hello! I would think BB will go with a lot of Bayless and more TLC. Probably see Ben and TJ together a lot. Is Anderson an Healthy option?

I dont think BB’s offense fits our personnel.

I feel like this collective offensive system is more suited for collective teams like the Spurs or Raps. You need vets and shooters for this. And even the Spurs do run a lot of TP PnR and LMA post offense a lot.

I feel like we need to run Biid at post and Ben or Fultz PnR for 80% of the game. And you need to find how to have an effective PnR with Ben.

Have to completely disagree about having Ben run lots of pick and rolls being a good idea. He's not quick or crafty enough to get to the basket, especially because everyone goes under screens on him, and he doesn't have the jumper to make them pay.

Fultz is the P&R guy, hopefully he plays basketball at some point.

The Grizzlies play at the slowest pace in the NBA. That's why their raw points and points allowed totals are so low. Look at pace adjusted instead. In terms of points per possession, they have the 24th ranked offense and 17th ranked defense.

The Sixers play at the second fastest pace in the NBA, thus it makes sense that they give up a ton of points. On a points per possession basis though, they're the 4th ranked defense.

The 2009-2010 Thunder, the team who improved to a 50W season after a 23W season, had 24-21 record on January 27, 2010.
Just sayin'.

They went 26-11 the rest of the season.
It's hard to replicate that kind of path for the Sixers (Harden's rookie season was better than Fultz's :D ) but not completely impossible.

I'll take TJ as a 3rd guard over rookie Harden.

Very interesting though. I forget what they improved to cause the turnaround, wonder if they had a similar issue with blowing leads early.

I took a look to the game recaps, and I'd say no they hadn't that kind of issue.
On the other hand, they had their worst period early in december but they went beastmode from Christmas.
They were 24-21 on January 27, 2010, but they were 35-23 one month later.

That Thunder team only used 3 starting line-ups all year. Their main unit (Russ-Thabo-KD-Green-Nenad) started 76 games with each other. Surely that continuity and chemistry allowed for organic growth and success.

We've already used 11 different starting line-ups before the All Star Break.

Our starting 5 through RPM (players with more than 30 min/game)

1. Simmons -> 11° in the League between PG
2. Redick -> 16° in the League between SG
3. Cov -> 1° in the League between SF
4° Saric -> 13° in the League between PF
5. Embiid -> 2° in the League between C (first is Cousins right now)

Not so bad, not so bad.
I think both Simmons and Saric can keep on improving and they are all locked up for 3+ years except JJ.
It would be nice to see Fultz in the JJ's spot...but we should be happy right now.

Team is indeed already very good, even BC can't mess this up (although he occiassionaly tries)

Given how well TLC has been playing as a starter, I would be tempted to keep him starting when JJ returns and have JJ boost the bench. Might be worth a try to solve our bench woes. If it doesn't work, JJ can always return to the starting lineup.
