He reminds me of a basketball version of Nick Kyrgios with his appearance and mannerisms (slouching) on court. Bolden looks to be a decent 2nd unit player in the future.

Oh god, don't say that :P I'm a big Kyrgios hater but I can't deny that similarity.

I actually wouldn't put that limitation on Jonah though, I think he has starter potential. Just such a good defensive player, can play both front-court positions and maybe even a bit of SF if he slimmed down and worked on his handle, great shooter and overall shot maker, good touch inside, really good athleticism, great passer and unselfish/high IQ player. Just has so many boxes ticked imo.

It's just hard because you guys are so deep.

I'm a little sad he isn't in the roster right now. I just imagine a "small ball" line up of Holmes at the 5, Bolden at the 4, Covington at the 3, Fultz at the 2 and Simmons at the 1. That size, agility and length would be insane.

Is he dealing with any lower body ailments? To me, he doesn't look as explosive.

The ballskills are apparent, though. He does some Saric-like things without needing the prominent feature that Dario did.

I think he can fuction as such. I wouldn't stop looking for a big, on his behalf, though.

He's less athletic than guys like Holmes and Lessort, but his 7'3" wingspan is a huge asset (both of those other guys are just 7'1" wingspan guys).

He's good on the glass on both ends and can protect the rim. Highly skilled, too (former SF at the lower levels). He's a little light, though, in the 227-237 pound range.

Yeah he is a high energy guy that makes things happen just with his athleticism. Almost a better small ball 5 option than Saric would be.

Maybe a bit optimistic but I'm hoping he can be a Robert Horry type role player.

Happy for him to percolate in Europe this season....by the end of this season we should have a much better idea of where or how all our 4/5 pieces fit together.

Bolden would be one of the 5-6 best talents on this team... if they had signed him.

Jonah Bolden - .371 from 3-pt, .625 (25-40), from 2-pt. About half of his shots are from distance. 11rbs/36min, 1stl/36min, 1.5blks/36min.

so far, so good.

How many minutes per game? I dislike per36 stats.

No way. He wouldn’t sniff the court at this point.

At first, I was thinking he could be a small ball reserve C. Now I'm starting to envision him as our starting PF.

Seems like he's got a pretty ideal skillset to mesh with our core. Hopefully his game translates.

This team lacks a weakside shotblocker . Bolden provides that with stretch 4 /5 potential as well. He can guard 3-5. I see a upgrade over Saric and this should be what we need at the forward positions

When Bolden comes over next year he’s going to get Saric’s minutes.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
