Welcome Jonah Bolden

Great pick for where we got him. His calling card in college was defense but he's shown flashes in almost every other part of his game. Gutting it out overseas shows maturity and a desire to make it. This reminds me of the Thon Maker pick a bit and not just because of the shared nationality; both guys have potential but also the lunch-pail, grind it out mentality needed to make it in the NBA. Bolden is no certaintly but he has good tools and a good outlook. He also played with Simmons as a junior apparently.

Why draft Lessort as a stash PF when Bolden will be the 3rd best PF on this team?

I think that will be a big part of what they decide to do with him next season.

Bolden and Lessort are very different players. Bolden seems to have some shooting skills, Lessort is more of an interior mauler.

Bolden intrigues me.

Lessort definitely strikes me as a 5.

Um.. bolden shot 40% from 3 on good volume.. his game is almost identical to lamarcus aldridge when i watch him.. not to that lvl obviously tho

I can def see him starting as the athletic stretch 4 sooner than later with saric the 6th man

Needs to add weight, but this guy is very intriguing to me in this current NBA landscape. Very fluid athlete.

He has that floppy look many have before they go through an NBA level strength and conditioning program but given he showed something in college defensively and can shoot we have something with him. I like my poor-mans Isaac comp - both are pretty basic at this stage putting the ball on the floor but in a lot of other aspects you can see something that's going to translate to the NBA for both of them. Isaac obviously has the higher upside but we at least know Bolden has heart - it takes some ticker to gut it out overseas in a completely foreign environment at that age in the hope of making the NBA later down the track.

As an Aussie Hoops fan, i was hoping we'd pick Jonah, but good on you for drafting him. His father Bruce, is something of a hoops legend in Australia, ironically he had many great battles against Ben Simmons old man (Dave) in the NBL.

I think Jonah is perhaps still a bit raw, but is a hard worker with a terrific upside and i think he will make it. Really hope he does well at Philly (along with Ben and Brett Brown, former Australian National Team Coach)

TJ Leaf ought to send Bolden a thank you card and a check for leaving the UCLA early and letting him get that spot this year...

Australian team should be good in next Olympics with NBA talents in Mills, Delavedova, Exum, Ingles, Baynes, Maker plus Sixers Simmons and Bolden.

Only watch highlights but really love to have him on our team. Very athletic and has good range. Strength and weight will come with time. Maybe lack of exposure is the only thing keeps him out of 1st round..

I liked Bolden a lot in the pre-draft process.

Twitchy as hell, good shooter, good rebounder, good defender. He ticks every box you want in a stretch four.

The only issue is I hear there's been character issues both at UCLA and with the Adriatic team.

He might be more effective as a small-ball 5. In fact, if we're confident in him I'd look to sell high on Richaun Holmes right now (future 1st?) and bring in Bolden to be our backup 5 instead on the Hinkie special.
