A guy who can shoot from 30 feet when he's locked in should be pretty good off-ball in the NBA. The only thing I really dislike about his dribble is its a bit too high at times, but that's ameliorated a bit by the fact that in NBA terms he's a midget.

I just think it's paramount for a guy of Young's stature and lack of physical ability to be an elite ball handler if he wants to fulfill his star potential.

I could recognize the ridiculous handle on Steph or Kyrie instantly when you tuned into a Davidson or Duke game several years back. I'm not seeing it with Trae. I get the impression that his handle is good but not exceptional.

Looking forward to seeing the Michigan State kids on ESPN tonight. Last time they played Illinois, Bridges/Jackson combined for 52 points.

Agreed.

Same goes for their feel for finishing around the rim. Young is much more mechanical and clangy around the rim compared to those guys.

Awesome, thanks for the reminder, I didn't even think to tune in and see who was playing tonight. Lots going on.

Volcanic tiny brain loser take time but idk this draft doesn't seem that great in terms of star power right now IMO. Maybe its because I went into this season expecting not to care and to not have any lottery picks but i'm not blown away by any of the top 10-ish guys. I don't hate any of them so that's great but it feels like there are going to be a bunch of Otto Porter types, solid-good starters but no real gamechangers.

Ayton has the body to be dangerous but he also could "just" be Myles Turner-esque or Derrick Favors "good", y'kno? Bagley seems like the classic great college big who ends up as an energy guy in the NBA, like I know he's young as hell, but he gives off that 3-4 year starter vibe lol. I can't speak on Doncic but being burnt on Mario and Exum has me shook. I almost might add to my bad takes by saying Young isn't that good, he looks tiny as hell and a game based off of bad out of rhythm shots is scary to bet on, no? Bamba is intruging since he's apparently stupid smart, so even if he's Noel 2.0 thats pretty exciting....but is he that? I like both Bridges..but they pencil in as solid wing guys that can go from Justin Anderson to Otto Porter types. Jaren Jackson is always in foul trouble when I watched him so I can't speak on him much, he seems raw and has all the tools you want from a 4 nowadays tho. Sexton's type of guard has not had a good run lately, the "bu-but" you can learn how to shoot guards of years past....still can't shoot.` And then there is a gaggle of wings who are hurt/held back by the **** nature of college ball....

It just seems like a pretty weird draft. Deep in name only but I question if the ceiling of a lot of guys are much lower than normal with the floors still being pretty bad for where you have to take some of them.

But hey....this now means this will be the greatest draft ever and I will continue to be wrong as **** about everything.

OMG at that driving spinning dunk from Jaren Jackson. Shades of Embiid in the Rising Stars game.

Miles Bridges' body language is kind of annoying.

After Izzo yelled at him for a shot he took, he mouthed "nobody could get open." He also throws his hands up when he moves off the ball and doesn't receive a pass. Also seems to demonstrate frustration on ref whistles.

Aric Holman, man. He just flat footed almost dunked on TAMU's front court and it rattled out. He grabs his own rebound, pulls it out for three and drains it. Impressive physical tools all around, but why does he put up pedestrian stats?

Any LaSalle guys in here? B.J. Johnson has 26 points and 22(!) rebounds against Rhode Island in the final moment. He's a 6'7 scoring guard that has been lighting up the box score this year.

Gafford reminds me of Anthony Randolph. Used to love that kid. Lol. I think Gafford's motor runs on 92 octane, whereas Randolph's was about 84. Lol. More physical too.

I've watched a bit of him earlier in the season, he doesn't have a great feel for the game and is caught a bit between positions in terms of the NBA. He turns the ball over a pretty decent amount and I don't recall seeing him assist anyone when I watched him. He's also a bit skinny. On the plus side you can trust him to hit a three at a decent clip and he's decently athletic without being outstanding and its not as if he's that old. I think someone will take a flyer on him in the middle/late second.

I thought he would be able to play as a small ball 5 earlier but I now think he has to play as a four (reason being he just lacks feel for the game needed in small ball lineups) but the issue is he has basically zero creation equity, putting him in a situation where he has to put the ball on the floor is a turnover waiting to happen. So you're left with a guy who can hit trail/corner threes at an OK clip and a rim-runner. Jonah Bolden is a much better prospect IMO so he'd be a bit of a waste of a pick for us.

Josh Okogie vs. #1 Virginia on ESPN2 at 7pm.

Duke vs. Louisville on ESPN at 9pm. I hope Bagley plays.

Every time I'm starting to waiver on SGA, I watch another game of him and fall back in love all over again. He will take time at the next level in terms of adding bulk and tinkering his shot (triggered) off the dribble. He's money off the dribble from mid range, but doesn't have it yet from three. The thing that impresses me the most, besides letting the game come to him as opposed to forcing the issue, is his Harden-esque drives. He doesn't have the muscle mass to do it, but he keeps bullying defenders to the rim and creating space with his elbows. If the Lakers pick is between 10-15, I'm taking SGA if he declares.

And if he declares, I'd honestly take Jarred Vanderbilt if he falls to our pick. He's the best rebounder I've seen at UK and that includes DeMarcus, Randle, and Davis. He has all time ability at that. If he'd be a role player for us to keep possessions alive on offense, I'd totally be on board with that.

Never a big Melton guy. All the stopper specialists usually end up in the G-League or playing overseas. I don't think he's demonstrated enough of anything else to be a serious prospect.

No Bagley again. More opportunity for Wendell Carter to build his draft stock.
