I'm not saying the Sixers invented the one year contract, but after Sergio Rodriguez, JJ Reddick and Amir Johnson signed 1 year contracts with the Sixers, it seems like the popularity of one year contracts is gaining (e.g. KCP, Beasely). Trust the Process!

Man defense for old man basketball...most shots are on the perimeter anyway so a zone wouldn't make any sense.

Yup. But man defense really takes out your wind! We usually play 2-3 defense then change to man to man whenever the opposing team is shooting the lights out.

Cool Nylon Calculus article released today grouping players into various offensive categories: https://fansided.com/2017/08/09/nylon-calculus-ranking-best-worst-scorers-every-offensive-role/

Richaun Holmes looking like a crusher! Embiid and Okafor not so much.

Anyone ever notice that most fan bases seem to over-value their own players and disparage opposing players?

I'm sure I've been guilty of this in the past but at the same time I feel like we at least try to be objective about our team most of the team (outside of the Simmons hype)

Objectively speaking: I think the Sixers are just better at the top-end and deeper than a majority of the league.

I understand the notion that young players don't win often right away, but these aren't typical young players.

Our 2 stars both got to absorb as much as they could about how the league works for a whole season before ever stepping on the court (2 seasons in Joel's case)

Our 3rd best(ish) player is a #1 pick as well

Dario has been a pro basketball player since he basically had his driving permit

There aren't many players on the team you can point to and say "well they are what they are, no chance they will get better" (Bayless, Amir, JJ, possibly JA or Stauskas)

Don't let people try and shoot down your optimism! We ARE being objective about it!

Our team is gonna be good! And I fully believe that

The Pacers just signed Damien Wilkins... Yes, that Damien Wilkins.

LeBron wanting to leave cavs while Sixers not being talked aboit as one of the teams he'll possibly end up playing is the news recently. I do think once the season starts and Sixers looking like the team of the future, people will talk about how Sixers is a great fit for LBJ.

What are the odds Sixer fans chant "WE WANT LEBRON" during that 11/27 home game against the Cavs? I expect our home crowd to be on point.

We only play for an hour so man-man is ok. Holiday games where we don't have to get to work and extend the time can be exhausting.

I find non-pro ball to be very favorable to bigs. So most times when there's a really good big scorer, it's tough not to go zone on D. My friends are relatively same sized that things get boring when we play man to man then defense just switch screens. When that happen, the faster more athletic teams would turn up the pace and would make it tough for the other team to keep up. Haha sorry i hope u know what i mean

Think about it..

If we aren't serious in trying to get LBJ next season, then I think we could have easily absorbed Mozgov's contract and in exchange get us DLo. This is in considerstion that we're high on DLo

As long as I play half court I'm good otherwise I need a minutes restrictions. The only reason I'm decent is because I'm 6'3 and semi coordinated lol.

Regardless of any specific plans I don't think the Sixers are in a position where they can take a huge dead salary for the next 3 years the way the nets are. Also don't think the Sixers had any interest in helping the lakers gain flexibility given the pick situation.

Boston trades Thomas, Crowder, Zizic, Nets unprotected 1st for Kyrie

Celtics will likely be the worst defensive team in the NBA by a wide margin next season.

Sixers will likely be the best. At least in the East.

Horrible deal for the Celts. Danny is doing the least with some of these assets. It's unprotected as well jesus christ.

Pretty horrendous deal for the Celtics for a player I don't value very much to begin with.
