They're not going to run Embiid and Simmons into the ground, so the bench will get minutes. TLC may get the DNP if they deem Anderson as the better player. Reddick probably just got all of Stauskas' minutes. Okafor will probably be traded for a future 2nd to Atlanta, Chicago or Indiana.

No team ever plays an 11 man line up. That hasn't happened in years since the late 90s/early 2000 blazers.

Team now usually utilize a 9 or 10 man line up with the end of the bench players rotating game to game depending on match ups.

Reddick needs more than 24 minutes IMO

Who Simmons guards will largely be a choice of the opposing team picking their poison. I'm sure that Simmons will be able to guard any one that can guard him, and that is the most important point here.

Teams will try different things to stop him, but they have no good choices really. Guards will mostly be too small, and bigs will mostly be too slow.

I doubt that plan actually happens because it's pretty stupid. Simmons should guard whatever position it makes most sense for him to guard. In a lineup of Fultz, Redick, Covington, Simmons, Embiid, why would that be any position other than PF?

I never understood why Brett said he would allow the other team to determine who Ben guards so we don't have to cross switch. Iverson and Snow cross-switched for years with no major problems. Why doesn't Brett decide which defensive matchups are advantageous for us and dictate the matchups.

We'll have to see what actually happens once the games start.

I think it will be fluid, and it may go either way. Simmons is a versatile enough defender that you don't have to make sure that he guards 4's.

Maybe that is how it works out though.

Running Embiid and Simmons into the ground would mean 38-40 minutes.

32 is probably perfect.

Not one player on the entire team averaged 32 minutes per game last year.

As of now, I see...

Fultz(32)/Bayless(16)
Redick(28)/Stauskas(16)/TLC(4)
Covington(32)/TLC(8)/Simmons(8)
Simmons(20)/Saric(28)
Embiid(30)/Johnson(18)

10-man rotation (excluding rest nights), for a grand total of...

Fultz - 32 minutes (can't see him not getting the green light)
Covington - 32 minutes (averaged this last year)
Embiid - 30 minutes
Simmons - 28 minutes (will be on minutes restriction, per BB)
Redick - 28 minutes (his average the last few seasons)
Saric - 28 minutes
Johnson - 18 minutes (could see these mins replaced w/ Holmes...BB loves Holmes, but just paid $11 mil to Amir)
Bayless - 16 minutes
Stuaskas - 16 minutes (provides more shooting than TLC, so I think he gets more minutes when JJ goes to the bench)
TLC - 12 minutes

Active/DNP: TJ, Anderson, Holmes

Inactive or D-League: Korkmaz, Okafor

I know, but 32 minutes for franchise players is on the low end of normal. Embiid had the minutes restriction, and he was the only player good enough to warrant longer than that.

If Embiid plays 32 minutes a game he will average 28 and 12 or so, and still not be over worked.

Simmons should have no problem playing even more than that.

I hope that no one will average more than 30 MPG. We have a great deep roster and we should take advantage of it

No reason both Embiid and Simmons should be playing under 30 minutes. They are our cornerstone players and young. They aren't 30+ years old. Paul George averaged 35 minutes last year. Even Myles Turner averages over 31 minutes per game. You play your stars.

Ben missed a whole season, Biid played just 31 Games in 3 years. We have one of the best Starting Line Ups and one of the best benches and we should use both wisely.

If Simmons and Fultz average less than 30mpg then they will not be producing as hoped. Even underdeveloped prospects like Ingram, Mudiay, Winslow played around 29mpg their rookie years.

Gonna be crazy to watch T.J get some DNP's. I wonder if there is a trade market for him.

I bet TJ is going to transfer his supposed DNP to Bayless in a couple of weeks.
TJ defense > Bayless 3points shot with this roster.

I really wish TJ could shoot even 33% from 3. I'd really like it if he stole minutes from Bayless.
