The Derrick Rose mentality gets you nowhere, in this era. If you're social and actively networking, you'll have a lot more success and fun in this league.

I think Embiid does his share of networking during the season. I noticed at the end of the last OKC game, during the post game hugs/handshakes, Paul George told Embiid "I'll see y'all tonight..." as if he had plans to hang out with Embiid and other 76er players.
Fischella wrote:I think none of you guys that are pro-Embiid no how basketball works today.. is way easier to win it all with Omer Asik than Olajuwon.
Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Interesting, were you lip reading or could you hear it on mic?

It was clear and audible from the telecast.

I wasn't clear, he is talking with guys because he enjoys doing so, he doesn't do it with the purpose of recruiting. It is his nature, this stuff comes natural to him.
Horrible takes since 2016

But that is exactly why guys will want to come play here. Because they like him and it will make spending 9 months a year together more enjoyable. Also why everyone in the league disliked Rose, because he didn't socialize.

I agree that his personality is a big positive, but he number one reason that players would want to play with him is because he is the most dominant big man in the league, and dominant big men make everything easier for all the other positions.

Yeah. I heard it. He clearly said “I’ll see y’all tonight.....and sign max with y’all this summer.”

Man Paul George would fit like a glove. It will never happen though. He will go to LA.

Cool stuff. I would be interested to see the plot for Ben Simmons. He probably switches even more than Giannis.

The Giannis and Draymond plots really aren't that impressive - the chart shows they mostly switch between bigs and wings. Chris Paul mostly is on guards and sometimes on wings, while JoJo is almost always on a big.

Simmons would be the true outlier since he is probably on a true mix of guards, wings, and bigs throughout the game. I would expect him to be clusters in the middle of the triangle - possibly the most versatile defender in the league.

He also mentioned talking with Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, although that conversation didn't have as much depth to it.

"He told me I should trust the process and come play for Philly," Antetokounmpo said with a chuckle, drawing a laugh. "That was my reaction — I just laughed.”

Come on Jojo, if your going to recruit, you at least have to know something about contracts.

Say that to Paul or Bron.

I guess so, but I bet he didn't know greek freak is under contract. If freak went full Kyrie demanding to come here, then we are better for it.....wouldn't get our hopes up over that happening though.

I have no idea why one would assume that Joel doesn’t know an nba player is not a free agent. That seems a lot less likely and then some.

I also wouldn’t assume Giannis wants to leave Milwaukee anytime soon.

It obviously was probably a joke by Jojo, noway Giannis leaves Milwaukee, that was my point.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
