I don't know why everyone is freaking out more after this meeting...the whole "he's only going to sign w/ LA" stuff is heresay from ESPN...y'kno a place that kinda needs the Lakers to not be ass for ratings purposes. Jabari Young and Shams are the only ones with actual info. WOJ is washed in this sense.

Well if I was Pop, I would call up the Clips asking for both of their first rounders.

Pop would've sent him to LA, your move Kawbye.

What's funny is, I still think Lebron and the Sixers is better than ANY combo of players the Lakers have with Lebron/Kawhi. But all these guys want to play in LA so not much you can do about that. LA the town itself is made for stars. Philly really can't compete with that unfortunately. It's not JUST about who has the best team and a chance to go to the finals. I am sure Bron has already talked to Kawhi and/or Paul George.
He organized the same deal in Miami a few years ago, he will do it again.
Forget about Kawhi, he is milking this "disrespect" over his injury all to just go to LA. Its so apparent. Its a dick move by him but hes a 26 year old kid and that's what kids do.

We need to get Redick in their ears talking about how much he loved playing here vs LA.

Kawhi to the Clippers would be great. Increases the chances for one of PG13 or LeBron to come here imo.

LeBron + PG is still no match for Golden State, and either player has a better chance to win a championship if they come here.
2023-2024 Philadelphia 76ers:

Lowry/Melton/Payne
Maxey/Hield/Downtin
Oubre/Batum/Council
Harris/Covington/Martin

I'd give #26 for him. The Spurs wouldn't take it, but that's about how much I'd value a year of a top-5 player who might be injured and doesn't want to be here. I'm not a fan of how Kawhi has done things with the Spurs, but he's still good enough to be worth the risk of a low first-rounder for the chance of one good year from him and the chance to convince him to stay. But I don't want to see the Sixers giving up #10, Covington, or especially Fultz or Saric for a one-year rental.

Lakers fan here...the whole Kawhi thing is starting to annoy me. I'm kind of at the point where I wish we could just sign PG and Lebron, and KEEP our young core. KL is a great player, but I don't want to gut the entire team.

¡TRADE OPPORTUNITY!

trade #10 for kawhi then sell him to LAC for BI, Kuzma, Deng, 2019 First, 2021 First and 2023 First.

I do wonder about those guys on the Clips, they have some pretty big player options, have to wonder if they will be exercised.

LAC will make a much better offer than that.

Your problem is Pop, he doesn't want to trade with the Lakers and Bron isn't coming to the Lakers with just PG.

That team will get blasted by the Warriors without at least Kawbye, Bron, and PG all together.

I still don’t see a young star just walking away from the Sixers after spending a year being ingratiated in our culture. I can’t think of a time in this modern era of the NBA where a star has walked away from a young team as promising as ours.

My prediction:

Kawhi gets traded for 12, 13, Galinari, and Teodosic.

Spurs run out Teo, Murray, Gali, LMA, Gasol and compete in the West, with 2 young guys off the bench developing the next group of great Spurs.

LAC runs with Kawhi, DeAndre, Lou, Beverly, Harris and actually competes as well.

Both teams are better off for it, but neither is close to Houston or GSW.

LAL offers LBJ and PG contracts and pitches them on forming a super team, etc. Magic Johnson, etc.

But PG signs with OKC on a 1 year deal instead, leaving the Lakers high and dry because LBJ won't sign without another star.

Meanwhile in Philly, the draft goes well and Sixers trade picks and players for another top 20 NBA player, then pitch LBJ a chance to get to the Finals straight away and fight the Warriors with some more help.

LBJ decides to stay in Cleveland and the Cavs trade for a decent few role players, and the Cavs make another run against Boston and Philly.

Philly resets free agency for 2019.

Why do you think PG gets cold feet? I would think PG forces his way to the Lakers no matter what.

Also, what top 20 NBA player do you think the sixers would trade for? Intriguing but i think it's more likely they stay pat and sign large 1 year deals (Tyreke, Dedmon, etc.) while letting the youth continue to develop.

If the Sixers don't get a star, then to get another top 20 player, instead of trading for one it seems more likely that Fultz or Saric or Covington take a jump to the next level.

It would be so brutal if Kawhi went to the Clippers after being "open to going there", then goes to the Lakers the following offseason.
