Markelle Fultz Discussion III: For Fultz and going forward (see 2017 draft thread for trade discussion)
Please keep this thread about Fultz and not the 2017 draft and trade in hindsight.
Instead use the 2017 Draft/Fultz Trade thread, for any such opinions. Thank you.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III
I predict page 2 or 3 will mention Lonzo Ball or Tatum. By page 4, the title of this thread will be very different from the subject.
...by page 69 it will be about Sexton. Man.. I wish we can post images of Sex ton in this forum.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III
IIRC not even Embiid has had 3 threads since drafted. Been injured sure but still.
I know Simmons is on his 2nd thread as well.
Either way Kelle keeps the puters putin.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III
Jayson Tatum has the same wingspan as Markelle Fultz, and as far as shot-creation goes, Fultz crushes him with his arsenal of hesi pull-up jimbos and whatnot. Not that Tatum is particularly deficient in this area but if you start to feature him as a scorer his athletic/measurable mehness is going to show up pretty often. For a guard, Fultz is one of the longer ones, for a SF, Tatum isn't. Both are very advanced in terms of technique but at the end of the day Fultz went number one overall for a reason, and that reaason is because he was the best prospect, not because Colagnelo is a dunderhead and Ainge ("I drafted Fab Melo! And Joe Johnson! But dealt the latter! I haven't come up with a legitimate long-term answer at center for a decade!" etc) a genius.
Those griping about the trade to get Fultz certainly have a right to do so but given a number of you wanted Josh Jackson and Lonzo Ball (and bleated on about it for months) with our draft pick the rest of us reserve the right to pillory you if you even utter a bleep about Jayson Tatum in this thread.
For the Celtic fans reading this I think Danny Ainge is a very good GM but he's made his share of blunders over the years, so those putting forward Tatum and the possible Laker pick/Kings pick as a sign of genius probably just have a selective memory. Good GM? Yes. Genius: no.

Has anyone mentioned that he flew back to Philly yesterday or is everyone still bitching?

You are now caught up on the last 101 pages of Markelle discussion. Please continue.
You forgot "He got fluid drained out of his shoulder" ooops... 'No, I mean he got a cortisone shot.'
Also, forgot the part where all of the Coaches and trainers watched him workout, practice, play an entire training camp, an entire preseason and 4 games of the regular season without noticing the player was injured.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III
I'm in the camp that believes in Fultz is part of our one year red shirt or similar program (all our lotto pick including Dario had it). Although I expect him to return this season so that's like a semi-redshirt?
Timing is good. After UW, then offseason and now missing early season. Thats continuous 10-11 months of development?
A lot of very good players misses time early on. CJ, MJ, Beal, Steph, AD and etc. LBJ probably took his HGH back in HS.
A red shirt year or something similar is a very efficient way of developing skillset and physique with no NBA games in between. Biid is like the perfect example BTW.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III
I hope the red shirt program is over. Just play him when he is ready. We need scoring and 3s when Roco and JJ are off. I want no more of Bayless and Sauce. I was wrong on Bayless... I somehow thought he would be better than TJ on the bench...

I don't post in here often, but I thought I had to. The curb stopping of Fultz by some Sixer fans, who hasn't played one game healthy yet, is now laughable. It's embarrassing at this point.

"Why they giving that damn Simmons the ball all the time. He didn't win at LSU and Lonzo is a winner. Can't win without winners. They need to bench Simmons in the 4th. They need to build this thing around Lonzo. At least he's healthy instead of Mr.100 million dollar man. That's why the record is raggedy"

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III
Honestly, Lonzo should red shirt the season. Lakers should treat him like MyPlayer in 2K. Build him from scratch.
Short term, it also makes them a much winnable team. Not opting for this route would lead Lakers with a losing team this season and pretty much the same losing team next season with no draft picks

14 posts so far in this thread: 4 about Ball, 4 about people talking about Fultz, 3 actually about Fultz. Off to a good start.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III
I don't think we see Fultz again until 2018, hopefully January, that would be a little over 2 full months. I haven't actually missed him until TJ went out, I've just been enjoying Ben and Joel.
But with TJ out it's become clear we could use another ball handler, another good perimeter defender and someone who can get buckets when teams make their 2nd half runs. I think most would agree a healthy Fultz can at least be the first two. I'm in the camp that thinks his shot will return when he gets a clean bill of health. I'm rooting for the kid and hope he gets back soon. I don't think I can take much more Stauskas.

Do we know when there'll be an update? I want to see him on the court.
