Holmes has not been utilized properly for awhile now. He's not a center.

He needs to play the 4 spot. Sure he can log a few minutes at the 5 if needed, but he needs to be a high motored, athletic roll man at the PF spot.

True but isn't Booker also a 4? There's not going to be much time for Holmes playing behind Saric, Simmons, and now Booker at the 4 spot.

I think he's capable of playing both spots TBH. All a matter of who your playing/matching up with.
He's added depth and honestly, probably just a large expiring to potentially throw into a deal to make $ even.

Any word on whether he'll be available tomorrow night?

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I enjoyed the smaller bench lineup with both Booker and Holmes sharing the court. Solid all around energy. Wouldn't mind seeing more of that.

I like what I've seen of his game. I like it a lot.
The Accession of Paul Reed is upon us !

You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

He's a PF version of what Justin Anderson should be at the SF position.

Pleasant surprise so far. It's obvious teammates already love him and respect him.

Gonna repost what I wrote in his appreciation thread:

He was a huge part of the culture and 100% class. He came in after having won the teammate of the year award from the Jazz.

He often helped set the tone of grittiness on the court, but I remember one interview where he was asked about mentoring and he used his career as an example. He said he would tell the young guys to look at him and how he still had a career after all these years because he worked hard at being good at his niche as a roleplayer after many others trying for stardom are out of the league. And that the young guys don't need to be under the pressure of superstar or bust, that they can just focus on finding a niche of what they are good at and work hard at it.

He also has a major entrepreneurial streak with investments in many areas. Yet another thing he could teach youngsters about investing wisely for a post-NBA life.

And when he lost the starting PF job to RHJ, he only had praise for RHJ for emerging as a PF. Absolutely classy.

The Sixers are getting a very good vet for their young team.

This guy just reminds me of how a qualified NBA level rotation/bench player should be who we don't have for many years.

Hopefully in a few years if we can land a big free agent our entire bench will be filled with these sort of guys. The guys like Kyle Korver that can come in and play 10 mins and win you games when you need it. If we had a bench full of decent vets we would be top 4 in the East.

Booker, Amir and JJ are great additions and this team will only benefit from these guys.

Ben Simmons, Paul George, Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Joel Embiid
TJ Maxx, Markelle Fultz, Furkan Korkmaz, Trevor Booker, Richaun Holmes

I am OK with George signing only if he admits that Embiid is our alpha right from the start. If he is coming here to "lead" us, than no thanks.
