I think you should find 5mpg for him. Or, more reasonably, a DNP followed by 10 minutes in a game. Just to keep him sharp. A 3rd string PG is important - any injury, any day off, any unexpected mismatch can have him on the court for quite a while. Who is the 4th string if we trade him?

I think you keep him for this year while we see what we have or don't have with Fultz. I think he puts in the work in practice and shoot around to stay sharp enough whether he plays or not so DNPs work for me. And I mean he doesn't shoot from distance so losing touch on those shots isn't a factor.

As far as a 4th string option, Jimmy Butler or Shamet can certainly play PG for stretches in a pinch.

I would say keep him and play as a backup PG. His energy is great, he is smart. That's what you basically need when you have a star and All-Star in Ben Simmons. And he will be cheap next summer.

I think at this point he needs to probably be playing over Fultz. It pains me deeply to say that because I for one really really wanted Fultz to succeed but he's terrible and I feel that all hope is lost for him. TJ on the other hand? We know what we are getting with him. He's also a better defensive player than Fultz and a better point guard in my opinion. I just think TJ Is the better more proven player and fit at this point. Sorry to Fultz, but sit him on the bench and lets go win some games with TJ.

So last night, Fultz started out by hitting Amir with a perfect pass at the rim, which he dropped, then hit a great looking jump shot, which was waved off foursome negligible contact by Shammet, and then he got a quick foul called on him for his own negligible foul. And it all went down hill from there, outside of a great pass to Biid just before his 3rd foul. The national announcers commented that putting Fultz out there with only bench players will not help his fragile grip. Personally, I don't think it's all that difficult keeping one of Biid, Ben or Jimmy out on the floor just about the whole time.

TJ will become the primary backup now that Fultz is going to fake another injury.

Looks to be Ben's backup the rest of the year. With his minimal cap hold next summer we have a great chance of keeping him. Just have to wait to use up our cap elsewhere, then resign him for whatever. Before he gets resigned his cap hold is tiny so we can make moves around it. I wouldn't mind tossing him $4-5M/yr on a 3 or 4 year deal.

You arent finding a better third string point guard (every team needs a third string pg), plus he is a viable back up. He is a keeper for this bench.

I'd definitely keep him now. Markelle is on the way out.

Hate to say this but Markelle will be gone. His only chance of saving his career will be with another team. TJ needs to be Simmons’s backup PG.

Good to see TJ back, a clear improvement over Fultz.

Unleash the GOAT.

The best part about TJ is his consistency and tenacity. That’s what you want in a backup PG. Every night you know you’ll get a solid 15 mins from him.

And his contract is really cheap.

I like how we've all agreed to block out that TJ was pretty awful in February and March last year.

Yea, I get people love TJ for his hustle and all, he’s still a 3rd pg off the bench. Too small and slow for bigger and quicker pgs. Why he had a few DNPCD, we still need a better backup next year.

He was very solid in 2016/2017 (top 35 in RPM for PGs), so we should block that out too?

I think we'd love to have someone better but not too many good backup PGs that make $1.6M per year. Shelvin Mack is the only one I can think of.

I'd love to see TJ in a more consistent and smaller role - routinely getting 15 mins per game backing up Ben. No more of this Ben & TJ sharing the court non-sense. And if we can find a better backup PG that makes less than $2m, even better. But I'd rather save the cap space for starter-quality 3&D wings.

The lineups with Ben and TJ have to be put to rest. With JB now here, there's plenty of opportunity for Simmons to post up and get an entry pass without TJ having to be on the court. If I have to watch more half court offense with TJ standing in the corner while Simmons dribbles around.....

I like TJ a lot. He is a clear upgrade over Fultz and a perfect backup PG. Not a 3 point shooter but good from midrange and great at the line. Remember, the Sixers were MUCH better against the Celtics with TJ in the lineup last year.
Looking forward to putting Fultz in the rear view mirror and moving on with TJ. Jimmy will love him too because he is all about hard work and doesnt shrink in the spotlight like some.

Yeah, pumping him up like he's some great addition by subtraction is not accurate. He's got exactly one offensive move, and is over matched on defense against the skilled and/or quick PGs. Yeah he's good at the line but never gets there. A perfect backup PG he is not. People love him because he's a bulldog and I get that but stating he's a clear upgrade over Fultz is contrary to many important measures you can easily research, despite Fultz's obvious struggles.
