We over used embiid. Playing back to back games with second game on the road early in the season was idiotic.

At Memphis (after the butler trade), at Milwaukee early in the season. finally why the heck play embiid at New York the last game before all star break.

We end up losing at Memphis and Milwaukee anyways. We played overtime in both Detroit and charlotte the day before anyways.

Embiid minutes and games needed to be managed better.

His body broke down by all star break.

He’s just a guy who can only play 60 games a season and 30 minutes. We will just have to live with that

I just don’t see him in the league last 5 years.

Boban is a very good replacement in this series, there is no need to play him more than 25mpg.

Agree. 20-25 min max for embiid this series.

But embiid looked so slow. He really can’t jump. He’s just so much physically bigger than any one on then nets. He can score anytime.

At least with embiid’s physical limitations. The good thing is he isn’t camping out near the 3 point line dribbling crossing over the ball in between his legs. Pump fakes. Dumb stuff he doesn’t need to do. Just get on the low post. If shot is not there kick it out.

I’m just so concerned long term. He’s not gonna to last long in the playoffs. Embiid looked rusty first quarter an a half against Milwaukee 2 weeks ago. But he looked really good quarters 2 through mid 4th. Looked really good. Than got fatigued.

But something happened in the Chicago game where he landed weird that Saturday night.

Can embiid be suspended for next game? That elbow. I would have given him the benefit of the doubt in real time. But he was laughing about it in the press conference.

He protected himself by keeping both hands on the ball and attempting a basketball move.

Had he had one arm off the ball and did the swing, he'd be suspended. Had it been a rebounding clearout, he'd likely have been kicked out of the game and possibly suspended/fined.

I see Demarcus cousins torn left quad. He’s got repaired left Achilles.

Just hope embiid doesn’t injure his left side ankle/leg etc over compensating.

I think Embiid does better on a minutes restriction lol.

he picked his spots better last night as a result of knowing his time was limited.

Yeah for the time being I think Embiid needs a minutes restriction. In a perfect world we can find a way to get past Brooklyn with him only playing 20 minutes a night. In a fantasy world, we get past Brooklyn and Orlando somehow upsets Toronto and Embiid gets even more time to mend. Doubt that happens though. Toronto is going to stomp Orlando these next four games.

Yeah, it would be nice to go Nets - Magic - Pacers - Nuggets en route to the championship :)

Wonder if sixers rest embiid Saturday afternoon as well. It will be another 3 days before they play (Tuesday). That would give his knees a total of 8 days off between games.

It’s not looking good for his knees long term regardless. He’s basically been “resting” one week at a time. Rested 3 weeks all star break as well. Looked great the last nets regular season game. That was after playing 7-8 games.

He looked rusty after the bucks after being out for one week.

I think he reijured himself against Chicago and hasn’t been the same.

I hope that next year management and coaching staff can trade "position" and "wins" for a healthy and well rested Embiid heading into the playoffs. Home court advantage don't keep me up at night.

This is why i don't get the 'trade Simmons' crowd. I love Embiid and want him here for his career, but his durability is definitely an issue. Simmons' conditioning and durability are almost without question. He'll be dependable for years - Embiid, maybe not so much.

I would play him in about 60 games next year and never on a back to back. Really if it means A 4 or 5 seed it's not that big a deal in the playoffs.

Edit
I'd like to see him lose 15 to 20 pounds

One of his weaknesses is that he likes to eat a lot, and not exactly healthy things, it is well documented. It is similar to Simmons, only instead of not working on his game the issue is not working on his diet. A better coach would push Embiid to take his diet more seriously and Simmons to work on his game more than 10 minutes per month.

Interesting way of putting it. Wonder if there's a disconnect between the FO and Brett.

It was obvious that something is really wrong after that inconsistent load management crap. This organisation is just pathetic.
