He is. At least in the way we usually recognize 7'1".

Embiid 6' 11.75''
Simmons 6' 9.5''
I can't believe that Embiid is only 2.25 inches taller than Simmons. Every time they stand together he looks close to 4 inches taller.

Lol.... That makes no sense.76ciology wrote:Don’t know man.. but I like Biid at 6’11 than 7’2”. What’s next is playing like a 6’11” which is developing his ball handling and perimeter shot.
And I personally think Biid should play more 4, specially when he’s along side Al. Biid is better at attacking close-outs, while Al seems better playing the 5 position on Brett’s offensive system.

Just cuz he defends fours doesn't mean he plays the 4 on offense.76ciology wrote:eyeatoma wrote:Lol.... That makes no sense.76ciology wrote:Don’t know man.. but I like Biid at 6’11 than 7’2”. What’s next is playing like a 6’11” which is developing his ball handling and perimeter shot.

And that’s my belief.
Biid in a recent interview said that he’s expecting more mismatch and double teams. He also lose 25 lbs and focused on shooting off the dribble in the summer. He’s playing with a slower big with Al. On traditional and small ball line-ups with quicker 4s, Biid has to defend those 4s. Do the math.

eyeatoma wrote:Well I guess that settles it. Looks like Jo was about 300 lbs during the playoffs and maybe the latter ends of the season (probably picked up the additional weight when he got the tendinitis. Because I recall him saying he was 275 at the start of last season).
Official weight at 280 lbs.
Imo he needs to be 270 or 275. Guess this is a start though. 280 is still too much.
