Well, at least hes not hiding from the media. Even without a jump shot, Fultz can help playing defense and driving to the hoop.
Not sure why he doesn't play but being hes not hurt you have to assume the coach feels he cant handle it. Which is astonishing in its own right for the first pick in the draft. Damn I wish someone from the Sixers front office put more time into scouting Mitchell. THAT guy would be a monster on the Sixers.
IMO it's obvious that he's not playing because 1) this was a team that won 50+ games without him, 2) he has had minimal time to integrate with the team, 3) the team would have to change their system to account for Simmons and Fultz, 4) its the playoffs - time to win not develop, 5) he's a 19 y/o rookie who's played less than 20 games - almost all rookies are net negative players (even #1 picks like Rose, Blake, etc.) until they've played 80+ games.. especially 19 y/o rookies ... Durant and Kobe were negative BPM players their rookie year.
Enjoy the ride, trust the process. Either he turns into a bust or not - who knows? We're trying to win so he's unlikely to help us... if he does then awesome.
Donovan Mitchell would be awesome for this team - I wish BC would have traded down to get him and more assets. But note that Mitchell played 2 years of college bball and is also two years older than Fultz. He's also played 85+ games so far this year.
