I voted for Shai because some of our more respected draft guys were raving about him in the draft thread.

(I know I just posted this in the draft thread, but figured I'd post it here too because this is a selection thread).

For those interested in a deeper dive, I wrote some articles with video/clips, Synergy stats, stats, and analysis on some of the guys mentioned above at my site --

I voted for Shai, before I realized Carter was available. I’d consider him if he dropped. He doesn’t strike me as all that athletic, but we could use a solid, quality big. I guess it depends on the FA plan

If Jaren Jackson slides to #7, I'll pay a premium to move up 3 spots. Phenom.

However, Shai is my guy at #10, all the way.

Hah, didn’t notice Jackson fell that far either. Crazy

Anyone else you would pay a premium for if they dropped to 7? Doncic, Bagley, Porter, Young, etc?

Wendell Carter would be a steal at the 10th pick.

Probably just Jackson. I think he's the best prospect in this draft.

I wouldn't be mad if BC identified Doncic as a trade up target, though.

I think Miles is going to be the pick that get's made in real life as he's probably going to be there at 10. However out of the available options I think I'll take Shai over Carter.

Sneakily it might be an opportunity to take potentially the next Middleton in Troy Brown. A lot of their percentages and advance stats are similar coming out of college. Middleton has 2 additional years though.

If the draft falls this way... you offer Covington and 10 for the rights to JJJ.

Carter is my choice. He's a fit next to Embiid as a starter at PF and is loaded with potential. Kid could become a star.

I said Shai, but it's absurd that Wendell is still available.

The Carter dynamic is very interesting, do people think he can play in a playoff game with Embiid? Brown seems super adverse to playing that sort of lineup, even when he had success with Noel last year and Holmes this year in limited minutes.

Otherwise I would defer to our groupthink and take Shai.

We just need to have some team before us to draft Miles Bridges and Trae Young, then it’s homerun for us

I voted SGA, reminds me of Ginobili and I think he fits perfect on our team. I'm not as high on the Bridge brothers as I once was although i'd still be ok with us taking either of them if we feel they are BPA. I'm no expert, but of the ten listed, i'll take SGA. Like I said, I see Livingston and I see Ginobili. I do not see MCW which i've heard some compare him to. I don't watch a lot of college ball anymore, but I do get a lot of the Kentucky games in the south and it seems as though whenever I do watch college ball, it's the Cats or Vols that I end up watching. I definitely like the potential that SGA possesses, but I think he's headed towards a bit of a rise. Someone is going to take him much higher than we expect and I think Tre Young will drop.

I would have gone SGA if Carter wasn't there. I look at how much ISO ball is happening in the playoffs, and how effective Dario was with his post game, and I really think Carter could either play with Embiid against a baynes/hortford line up, or he could play the 5 in the second line and give us some strength down low (maybe paird up with bolden) where both guys should have some range too.
